It sounds silly to ask 'Do you know how to clean your visor and adjust your pinlock?' but surprisingly it is a bit more fiddly than you might think.
Mark and Toby talk about how to clean your visor properly and how to adjust your pinlock to make sure it fits correctly and performs as it should.

I believe the phrase you’re looking for to describe the pinlock pins is eccentric cam! Made me chuckle how the dog wondered off and proceeded to spend the rest of the video trying to retrieve something from under the fireplace! Good video guys, educational and amusing as usual. I like the pledge tip 👍🏻

Thanks guys, useful information as always. I use baby wipes for the initial clean and a fibre cloth to dry off; the pack of wipes stores easily in my tank bag and only cost 86p from Morrisons. Cheers, Andy

What I also do when I remove my visor for cleaning is I put a bit of silicone lubricant on the visor seal and the moving components. Makes the visor move lighter and seems to seal better.

I agree with using polish as it's has brilliant hydrophobic coating, but inwouldnt go straight in with that as your theoreticalcally buffing in dirt. I use window cleaner as it's the same as mucoff, shift it etc but only 71p to remove filth first. Then I use washing up liquid leave it dry then buff off as it leaves a good anit fog coating then finish it off with polish. Enjoyable video lads ! Good work. Subbed

Good vid gents, I've had pin locks that don't have the adjustment function, in fact I've never seen an adjustable one. Every days a school day. I,m currently running a shark with the anti fog shield which is okay. On dropping helmets, I sit in the camp of if you drop it and can see actual chips, cracks or deformities then it goes. Generally reasonable brands can take the odd knock and not compromise its integrity. Fortnine has some very informative helmet care and make vids for educational purposes. And mid range quality helmets works for me too. I've had 2 SMIDSY,s in 12 months it can be pricey.

Very nice and informative video. I even didn’t knew that the pin was adjustable and that we could remove and reinstall the pinlock, thought that it could loose the efficiency. Love to see when you both are trying to show a serious face and then, after a few seconds, all we are laughing 😂. The dog wasn’t very involved, maybe he doesn’t care because he has someone to clean his visor. (Sorry for my english)

I bought a Shark helmet. It's really good except the visor steams up, even with the pinlock in. I know you can tighten or loosen it with the pins but not sure which way they are meant to turn. Can't see any arrows on it. Do you know if it's normal righty tighty, lefty loosey?

Great vlog and yes have made the same mistake buying a new Arai helmet and the pin lock visor fogged up - so quick question, “How do you know what side of the anti fog visor” goes against the main visor...?
@RiderCamTV
@RiderCamTV 6 жыл бұрын
Hey mate. Thanks for the kind words. It’s the side that has the silicone bump that goes against the visor. If that’s not what you meant your pin lock should click into place with minimum effort. If it doesn’t fit right chances are it’s around the wrong way. Hope that helps :)

When the shield is extremely coated with dried bug guts, take a paper towel, soak it with soapy dishwater, then spread it across the shield and allow it to sit there for an hour or so, occasionally re-wetting it if necessary. Then, pry it off and use the Pledge as indicated here. Far cheaper than a bunch of specialty stuff which is chemically, exactly the same as the Pledge except for the lovely lemon fragrance which the expensive stuff lacks.

Hi Gents..Can you do a video on what you think of the new integrated intercoms / helmets (Shoei or Schubert) kind of thing, I'd like to get your opinion . For years i've gone with separate items and at the moment i ride with a shoei helmet and Uclear intercom system. PS, On seeing your videos i've decided to buy the Caberg Duke II from Get Geared..nice 20% discount which got it down to £148.

Good stuff guys as always. A couple of points: I got some new glasses at specsavers before Christmas, and they sell a decent sized bottle of lens cleaner for £2.50. I've been using it on the outside of the visor and my mirrors. I'll experiment with Pledge too after seeing this. Second point, do you have any idea if Rainex is safe for plastic visors? I've just discovered how effective it is on the cars windscreen.
@RiderCamTV
@RiderCamTV 6 жыл бұрын
That stuff is good too but a little pricy unless you have a friendly optician. Hehe. Rainex should be ok I think although I haven’t used it before but I’d check with the retailer before buying.
