Every day we perceive many visual impressions. We can differentiate a multitude of colors in a bunch of flowers, and we can respond in a
matter of seconds when driving a car. But what do we actually know
about visual perception? Learn the basics in this simpleshow!

Does focusing on objects near and far relate to visual perception?

I think that’s visual acuity. The only reason I’m looking this up is because I scored really high on IQ test in this but I knew that cause I was an Art major & could always draw exactly what I saw it’s weird.

Once our brains have built a picture of what were looking at, how do we then "see" this constructed image? How does that work? In this video he says the visual information from the eyes is "reassembled into a complete picture". But isnt building that picture just taking you back to square one, so to speak? So rather than your eyes looking at an image, your brain is now "looking" at this newly constructed image. But how do you experience that image, what is the mechanism for how we actually " see" something. Its hard to explain what I mean exactly Haha

I am seeing white and my boyfriend is seeing black. I can see a sun. He can not see a sun. I say the sun shines. He says the sun does not shine. That is our relationship. I see hundred people's faces and he does not but me.

if the optic nerve become disconnected from the optic chiasm , there would be no translation of the visual stimulus to the brain ,therefore never pass to the storage of memory. It would be like you never did see this. i think this expression has to do with the whole visual ability. it's the corellation of sensory modalities and brain processing which make us capable of seeing -interpreting and remembering of the stimulus. it's about the process, not the ''instrument'' of it and that's why is called ''visual - perception system''.
