If you want to avoid losing shields when you discharge your ships, set their protection status to on by left-clicking the shield, and right-clicking "Change Protected Status To On". You'll need to do this for each shield. This will prevent you from being able to discharge a ship when the shield is equipped to it.

Pro tip: for all of those different shield items, if you right click on them and then activate protected status, you won't be able to accidentally discard that ever ever again even if they are equipped on a ship that you decommission. It will go into your inventory I think.

Not usually on my science captain but this beautiful ship is one of my favorite sci ships the whole intrepid family of ships are beautiful ships I usely fly cruisers

i sure you know this but the Intrepid t5 can use the aero console too and of coarse any long range sci skin on the T6 has animations too if you have the other intrepid class variants you can use the armor, shockwave torp and the aero shuttle on all of them , Crypic could have made the set bonus better IMO the main reason i take the aeroshuttle is to have extra Sci ablitlys in use , and the pathfinder is one of my favorite STO ships thomas did a great job

i know the borg visuals( like all nacelle impulse and deflector ) carry on the saucer when separated but i havnt look at the rest

im surprised you didnt know that shield visuals apply to all detachable pets like the areoshuttle, the ody's Aquarius destroyer and the t6 jem carriers depolyable attack ship. its a shame they dont apply to hanger pets too :(

Slim down the hull a bit and elongate the nacelles and you've got a sleek looking ship there.

Huh. Why on earth did it not do the chromy-wood-red right on the ship? That topside should be blinged to heck and back again from it... The rule in my experience has been any place that the reman shield neon-greens all over is going to be that delightful Zef-Red. Try the Excelsiors, maybe? Or... hmmm. Maybe... the T6 vestas? Or... Guardian? It's an ugly ship, but I know I get the greenies all down the nacelles. Let me check, and I'll be right back to see if I can find a T6 ship that gets the stuff good. Addendum: Playing around for a few minutes on my toon that has the shield: The Zef-Red is aggrivatingly elusive on T6 fed ships. The Andromeda-line gets it on the back of the neck. The T5 Avenger gets a good dose along the sides of the engineering hull and along the back of the nacelles (this may not translate to the T6 version as I do not have that), the T5 Patrol Escort (the Tempest) gets a good dose of it on the nacelles and along the two black bands on the saucer. The Heavy Cruiser will get it quite a bit, though where I can't say. The reliant nacelles get a good dose of it, along with presumably the same bands on the saucer. But... that's it. A lot of the places where I thought it would be, logically, based on the usual greeble and color-splash locations for other vanity shields aren't triggering with this shield, and for the life of me I can't figure out why not. If anything, I think maybe trying the T5 ships a bit more might work. Won't get much with the galaxy saucers, I know that, but... Maybe the Alita and Armitage?

There's a lot of potential in her. I really want to like her, but she just looks clunky.
