You need to make sure that the orgin of both the object and the curve at the same place for it to work

When making the grid fill at 8:52, shift click and click on a corner vertex in the inside extrusion, and then ctrl + f to grid fill, this will ensure that the grid fill is proper and there is no need to offset or span the fill

fyi there is a modifiers called simpledeform where you can bend, twist, taper and stretch the object, i used this for tht kind of scene where u just need to simply deform the object after finishing the modeling like throphy etc.

the curve modifier takes up the position only if your model is at the origin (0,0,0). because your model was away from the origin, it gets snapped away from the expected position. try using alt + g to snap the selected object to the orgin, then apply the modifier. i was facing the same issuie with the follow path contraint for the camera.

no you are not stupid. the origin of the curve must be on the same spot like the objects origin you want to "curve modify". but sometimes the whole curve thing freaks out... maby applying the rotation of the object of curve helps to prevent this from happening...

@@ArijanRace Your deform object need to be at the same place with the curve's origin too The further away the object's origin to the curve's origin, the further away the curved object will be from the curve itself And the deformed object will have it's origin placed on one end of the curve and start bending in the direction decided by your deform axis setting in the modifier So it is ideal to have it's origin in one end of the object (doesn't matter if it's the top end or the bottom end) and rotate the curve accordingly

It is good to use multiples of 4 or 8 because it makes it easy to divide the circle into quarters or eighths. Those circles are symmetrical on 2-4 lines.
