Amen brother! I can’t tell you how many times a client comes to me because they got lied to by their dealer about a dealer installed coating.

I used to work in dealerships here in Montreal, I worked in Toyota, Kia, Porsche. They offer car detailing service and everything they use is very cheap, not real paint correction just one step polish, the wax is extremely cheap, the car is shine just in delivery moment. So, what I mean is that people trust in dealership service and the truth is the are very cheap, they don’t fix the paint because they use filler products and the car painted after a month will be naked. No protection at all and the salt on the road in winter will rust the car paint prematurely. This issue is very, very common, I’ve seen cars just 3 or 4 years old and the paint has rust because people don’t protect their car paint.

Lincoln JCM . Dealerships are exactly like you said! They try to upsell everything they can and unfortunately there are people that pay for that next to nothing sell! I have had a few clients call me and ask what is this product the dealership says is an ultimate product and as Mark mentioned in the vid, people need to read the small print! Some of what they call sealants are not even a sealant, they are just a wax applied by buffer or sometimes a spray on wax! Even if they offer a "Sealant" and say it will last forever they are flat out lying😐 Even a good sealant applied correctly is not going to last! I bought a 2017 Mustang GT and they wanted to sale me a coating and I asked what type, manufacturer etc and they gave me the name of product (not going to talk negative about company that the coating was from) and then is when I got em! It was a Silica based Spray that is actually is not a bad one, but when they said it will last for many years. Thats when I had to stop them and tell them I am a Pro Detailer and it will only last about..... ! That was the end of that conversation😁 1 month later after applying a 9h coating myself I brought it back due to some other issues and the Service manager asked if I had my cars paint sealed (his words) and I told him I coated it myself with some proffesional coating that has a 6 year warranty from my personal biz and the next thing he asked was how much will you charge to do my 2018 Platinum Explorer? Well 2 weeks later I did the work to his Explorer and when cured and finished he said "I wish my company offered this, because I would get a discount" I just replied, thank you for your business and he is now on my maintenace list of client :)

Great info Mark! I really like hearing from other Pro detailers and the truth about what we do and why we succeed with honesty! BTW, I live in Omaha Nebraska, but due to the weather I am headed to California for the winter and will stay busy with former clients when I was living in Cali just 3 years ago! Again thanks for your great vid!

Bought a car at the dealership (first mistake) and they took the car to "clean it up" about 15 minutes into the paperwork I saw a charge for 995$ for "PermaPlate" paint and interior protection. I declined the protection and was told it was too late; they had already applied it!!!! I almost walked out, but they did take the cost off eventually. I would guess they CON a lot of people this way. I took my car into my local detailer who did some paint correction and applied a 2-year coating for LESS than the Permaplate!!

Outstanding video, Brother. I own a pro detailing shop in Arizona and we do 1-2 ceramic jobs a week. We are a 2-man shop, very experienced with strong local client base, high-end only. We cannot do more than 2, and sometimes can only manage 1, with the other details we do throughout the week. You are SPOT ON with this video! Much respect! Thank you for being a beacon to our markets! I would love to add this to the bottom of my video as I work hard similarly to educate my local market. May I? Please private message me.

🎯 Warranty comments. Assurant handles most of these. Assurant almost never pays up.* I was looking at Luxcare XT. I came here trying to figure out what they would be putting on my car for $1200.00. Assurant was the red flag for me. I once used ticket insurance for a concert on four tickets. It was from Assurant. My three other friends couldn't show up because of a work emergency. Assurant required me to get a written note from their boss on company letterhead for my claim. Of course, the ridiculous request never happened. Imagine having to put your friends through that kind of awkward situation? Since it was a gift to them, I simply just kissed that $780.00 goodbye. My point is no matter what it is. If it has Assurant as the insurance carrier, be very skeptical. * Assurant has only come through for me with damaged phone insurance. The co-pay was $250 for them to send me a two year old refurbished phone as my replacement.

My dealership said that their coating will last 5-6 years but I'm never to use wax on it. Is that good? And they said it would take 3 hours to apply. Now my dealership does have their own mechanic, body, and detail shop. Can I trust their coating
@VisualProDetailing4 жыл бұрын
I have no idea what product they are using, but my prep and application time for a coating runs 7-20 hours. Doing it in 3 is very suspect.

@@VisualProDetailing my boyfriend paid for it when I bought the car. I'm just wondering if its not very good will it damage my car and if it turns out to not be very good when and can I get my own put on some day

I also have another question. They said no wax when I wash but most car washes have a clear coat protection in their wash. Is that ok to use after a coating

Where are you located and how much you charge for the coating you use?

im buying a new tacoma i offroad all the time should i ceramic coat my truck?
@VisualProDetailing6 жыл бұрын
Billy Blaze it would certainly help keep it cleaner. Some of the scratches that come with off roading a coating will NOT prevent however.

I just got a warranty for 84 months , for xzilon treatment. How long do they usually take
@eppyz4 жыл бұрын
You can buy Xzilon Green on Ebay for $30 so yeah. I got scammed into buying it myself, they gave me a 5 yr warranty but most people don't realize most new cars have a 3-5 yr warranty on the paint anyway. Ceramic Coatings are praised by Pro Detailers for one reason, they are HUGE money makers as well. Most charge $1500-$2000 to "coat" your car. So either way your getting screwed over. SiO2 isn't great either. Horrible for water spots and bird bombs. Etches very easily. So there is no perfect anything. Just take care of your car the best you can.

Not true all the way I work as a subcontractor for auto you in Australia they are the only ceramic company which is backed by Zurich insurance company the auto you glass ceramic or any other dealership ceramic must withstand the hash weather of Townsville in Queensland Australia for 3 months that means severe weather conditions if it fails it is not approved and will not get into the dealership products list and you need to be certified to apply the dealership product

Not discounting your abilities, but spend money on your background and film equipment. Think NYCAMMO. Great data though…

Thanks for the feedback, this video is I think around 5 years old and back in my old shop. I have great respect for the other detailing youtubers out there but my primary focus is educating and helping my customers and providing services on their vehicles rather than youtube ad revenue at the moment.
