His win against Tal is not something that one should boast about. Tal was ill and near the end of his life. Besides, Nihal Sarin beat Magnus but that doesn't mean he is in the same ball park. I am not saying GM Vishy is not in the same league as Tal(both cannot be compared because they exist across generations apart) but one game doesn't mean anything.

I remember back in school days in our gk book there is a quiz question best Indian chess player Vishwanath Anand and our teacher told his brain is faster than the computer he beat the computer and on those days this line was mind-boggling and we wonder how anybody can beat computer of being the kids only used a computer in labs and only used paint to make things for fun like teacher impersonations

Yes, and MS PowerPoint was the latest thing. This was in 1997/98. "Mars-the red planet" was my first ppt 😁 nostalgia. And the computers were only kept in the labs with very low temperature control. And not a speck of dust was to enter, taking shoes off was obviously observed strictly, and must be a common practice even today (not sure). I remember once we were made to even sanitize ours hands. Vishwanathan Anand Sir has always been an inspiration.

It's amazing how everyone missed the whole point with the Queen move. It was never meant to be a sacrifice guys, it's what is called a temporary sacrifice because Ng5 next move forked the King and Queen and Vishy got his Queen back after two moves. But Vishy couldn't just explain this and dampen the excitement which followed. Mad respect for the man, and great job guys for making chess more mainstream!

I have been following him ever since my pre-teen years, keeping track of his achievements.. most of his contemporary players have retired, and he is still regarded as one of the 'Super Grandmaster's' League.. still playing at the elite level.. today was the first time I've seen him so candid. It is probably because Vishy Anand is so young at heart, that he's able to compete at the highest level still!! He's right there in my sports hero's list with Sachin Tendulkar and Leander Paes! I watched this live and there was a moment where vishy sir kept his bishop in the line of Abhish bishop ...so that he could take it...and just to make him realise that...vishy sir was saying"oh no my bishop!!!!!"... unfortunately some other joke was going on and no one heard that and Abhish didn't take that piece...so sweet of vishy sir....if possible samay can u add that part...or if you have that video with you ...watch it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
