Chennai is equally good. It is just the off campus of Vellore and cut off is going high for Chennai. Placements for same for both Chennai and Vellore. It is all skills that matter.

Skill ke hisaab se hi placement hoti hai. Otherwise, you will just get short listed by VIT and not get selected ahead by the company. Skill khud hi develop karni hoti hai. VIT kuch nahin karta bhai.
