I bought the Supervillains from a local bike shop when I got my new Spartan because of Vital's review. Holy crap, what a pedal... I rode hard this summer and haven't had my foot slip once.

If pedal kickback is a problem that seems like the best solution. In my 34 years of mtb Ive never had a problem though.
@VanadiumАй бұрын
pedal kickback is a critical thing suspension designers need to deal with. My Shogun from Tairin will also disengage further. Way better suspension feeling.

Try the Tairinwheels S1 if you like the Sidekick hub. I'll compare both back to back soon.

What do you think about new DT EXC and XMC 1200 wheels from the movie ?. And have you tried using DT 240 DEG hubs in E-bike ?
@vitalmtbАй бұрын
We've been riding the EXC 1200 for 6 months now, it's a very good wheelset (we have not used the DEG 240 hubs in an ebike so we can't answer that question). Here's a detailed review of the wheels if you want to know more: www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/wheelsets/dt-swiss/exc-1200-classic-52306#product-reviews-477966

I’m running some 350 90t deg on mine. Haven’t gotten much testing in yet, just pedaling around. Engagement is great and doesn’t seem like too much. Still some give with it have a clutch in the motor. Can’t see any downsides

@@carterschichtel9678 So we can expect release of 350 DEG soon ??? ;)

@ Check out the new reserve alloy wheels. They are the only way you can get them currently I think. I was shopping for wheels and the warranty and the hubs had me sold

It seems funny to me how MTB industry works.... you say the grip2 damper was amazing, yet when the new one comes out, you say you "dont have to rely on air spring anymore" for support.... so was the grip2 that amazing? :D i dont think so

Stoked on the e13 sidekick hubs!!.... TIRES.... Michelin and Schwalbe have released tires this year that are miles ahead of anything Maxxis makes currently. No mention?? Maxxi pads are so over rated here in the USA it's insane. Fox Neo must be made of solid gold for those prices....holy crap Much love Vital !!👊

Great info as always. For a second I thought the purple Garbaruk chainring was a Fraezen chainring.Not sure if you ever mentioned Fraezen in the past, but their 44mm length stem completely improved the handling of my big travel emtb. Matching stem length to fork offset turned my slack emtb into a total point and shoot bike now! Cheers from Santa Cruz!

I make sure to buy rims with Schrader😂 but thats my preference. I hate prestas because its so easy to clog and break.

Wut???😅

I drilled the hole a bit open to fit the Schrader valve. 4 rims DH and freeride 32 years, no issues whatsoever. Hate prestas.
@elvisladАй бұрын
That valve is a waste of time,just use Schrader,they work perfectly for tubeless mtbs,presta is for high pressure racers,when did the industry and cycling community forget this. Presta lol

Do they make Schrader valves for rubles set ups? 😂 Never had a problem with pests valves. But I love the SC philmor valve

@@racketbear112 yep,I've never bent a Schrader though,super easy to clean out if needed,you can pump it up everywhere. If your rim wont fit a schrader it must be super narrow,I'm thinking mtb really.

The hub is pointless. They over engineered a hub with less engagement so they could sell you on the “advantage” of less pedal kickback…..no different t than a “lesser” hub with less engagement points to begin with that will be more realia le than an overengineered hub with way more moving parts
@AntnerdАй бұрын
I've been loving mine. Just using a less engagement "lesser" hub will leave you with inconsistent grabs, and random harsh kicks to the pedals since you could be sitting -right there- at an engagement point or a mile away from one.. Ive been super comfortable with the way the sidekick always resets back to zero
@VanadiumАй бұрын
You can engage a hub with less engagement points still at anytime because there is no mechanism to engage at set degrees. The teeth could be just a hair close to get in or out of the way all the way. Systems like that will make sure its always the same distance.
