Great review. Vittoria has gotten more expensive but they usually offer various versions of a tire to hit a person's pricepoint. I usually have to semi mount and leave overnight to stretch them a little or it's a fight. One point I may have missed, there's outright traction and then there's feel.. I've never lost the front end on various Vittoria tires simply because I can tell what's going on a bit better than say a dhf. A lot of their sidewall knobs have a transition as well, sort of a slip and then grab and rail as they roll to the side. Cool company, have their stuff on a lot of bikes.

Yeah I’ve never fully lost the front end and crashed. Well except once but thats because I panic braked in a corner which wasn’t smart. I also forgot to mention that they do seem to respond well to a full lean over versus a semi lean. Problem is not all corners or sections of trails are compatible with that type of aggressive full lean style of riding.

I've taken Martellos off my bike after 18 mo of riding, just because I was tired of looking at them. My only niggle on this video is no mention of measured casing width with psi and rim width too.

graass is always greener. i need to get the mazza enduro race next. i loved the trail casing but got punctured so went enduro casing and ride is harsher and different feel that I am trying to get used to. The fact that it bounces around feels like it’s losing traction so need to try race version which is softer and grippier. I have the Martello race rear and it does exactly what I just mentioned

Have you noticed if they have that same sort of vagueness that the DHF has when you go to lean it over before you hook up the side lugs? Thanks for the review, looking forward to the short format.

I’ve actually never ridden a DHF but what you are describing sounds pretty accurate. The tire definitely likes a full lean. Partial lean is mostly where I feel that lack of grip that I was talking about.

i've ridden this on enduro casing.. good and planted but need to play along with the psi when ride on stump or rooty section.. and cn be overwhelm when muddy.. donut.. 😆.. also the tire seems like no sign of wear off after 6mths

Yeah lower pressure might help. I’m usually at around 25 or 26 psi with no inserts. Probably be ok going a few less.

any new results on psi changes and rim internal width or inserts? I may try going 25 psi as well or lower and run a tannus insert. i weigh 209lbs and have 30mm alum and 36mm carbon rims to try this with

I love their tires and was running them for a few years, but they got too expensive and went to Continental

Does actually seem like they are more now than when I bought mine around a year ago. Still cheaper than Maxxis though.
