I'm going to mention this right away because this is the most common mistake new and established players make: you can't pitch cards for no reason. The correct sequence is to announce the card/ability you're playing _and then_ pitch for it if you don't already have enough resources. Otherwise Rok would be the best weapon and fuse effects become even more broken (since you could just fuse with the card you'd be using to pitch) :P Other important newbie mistakes I noticed: 1) @12:12 Rowan discards an Agile Windup using its instant ability, and completely forgets about his hero ability that would have also created a Might token for him, since this is the first time during one of his action phases when he discarded a card with 6 or more power. And if you're about to tell me that blue Agile Windup wouldn't do that, take a closer look at Kayo's abilities once again :P Rowan almost forgets about this once again at 21:45, but then quickly fixes the mistake. Alan, however, never remembered that the 1st time Olympia wins a wager, he gets paid in gold! Don't forget about your hero abilities, people, they are important! 2) This isn't a mistake, but I feel like the moment when Rowan uses Rally the Rearguard's instant ability @1:18:15 could have benefitted from a bit of explanation of the thinking process. When Rowan uses Rally the Rearguard's instant ability, he does this ahead of time (kinda like playing instants in Magic beforehand) which can make this play quite suboptimal. He could have simply defended with the card to see if Alan has an attack reaction in hand, and if Alan played one, Rowan could've activated the instant ability in response. In this situation Alan's hand was empty, so there was no attack reaction to be wary of, but overall, using Rally the Rearguard's instant ability at the right moment lets you learn an important piece of information about your opponent potentially having a deadly finisher. 3) @1:19:49 Alan pitches a blue card for his Cintari Saber (that only costs 1 to use) and has 2 resources left floating (and you might also see how Alan is a bit nervous :P). Rowan only defends for 2, which costs him the game. Whenever you're playing against Warrior and they present a small attack, but you see them with resources floating and cards in their hand and/or arsenal, that is most certainly a bait and they have an attack reaction ready. Warrior is the class that uses the most attack reactions in this game, so be vigilant and don't fall for their tricks!

I’m about 25 mins in at this point, so far, I like the flow because there isn’t cut scenes, but I like the cut scenes so I find myself wanting cut scenes here. i also feel like Rob adds a lot of value. I would love to see him essentially host the game and just let the guys riff. Similar to the bored one shot or the Halloween one shot. I thought to myself while watching the giant vice grip episode, I like the way they didn’t edit it and just let Adam riff. While Rob was looking for their minis. I thought it was so authentic to who this group is. I’ve also said it before. I would love longer D&D episodes, keep the cut scenes and make the episode longer. I like this, it’s a change of pace, so I’ll keep watching

Love how uncluttered the cards are. Magic you can be there for hours reading the cards.
@ih8people10 ай бұрын
I love how the cards can have just one line of text on them, but force your opponent into a really tough decision. E.g. there's a hero called Katsu who often starts his turns by attacking for 5 with a "Surging Strike" card that literally just says "Go again". But if he then follows that attack with one called "Descending Gustwave" (which normally costs 1 to play and attacks for 3), that becomes another attack for 5 with go again that costs nothing. And if that is followed by "Bonds of Ancestry", that's another attack for 4 with go again that costs nothing _and_ lets you search for the next combo piece. That is, if you just let that first attack through, you get 5+5+who knows how many damage. If you block it, you lose a few cards and still get hit for 5+whatever Katsu can find in his deck. All the lines of text on Magic cards just fall flat in how much strategic depth they offer
@MRGilD07 ай бұрын
I play Flesh and Blood. These are blitz decks and they’re not meant to be competitive. Once you get to playing more meta cards, believe me, Flesh and Blood is far harder to keep track of than Magic. I will add a caveat tho. If you’re playing an eternal format in magic and the game lasts more than 6 turns then it becomes harder than Fab imo.

FaB is actually much easier to get into than MtG and also has quite a lot depth to it, even though cards seem deceptively simple. I've been playing MtG for more than 10 years, but after playing almost exclusively FaB for 8 months, MtG seems like its mechanics most of the time are just confusing and convoluted without actually having any depth, while FaB mechanics are most of the time extremely simple, but actually let you be much more strategic about how you use them
