Bravo, complimenti!

I love the music of this opera and Philippe Jaroussky’s young voice. It is pure thrilling and expressive. There are beautiful duets and quartets in La verita in cimento.

---------------------- You insult me but do not make my unchanging, gentle brotherly love any weaker or less loving. I am your brother, and if I were your sovereign I would still be the same to you. ---------------------------------------------------------- 2 - No, non ti credo Bel volto amabile Quanto ti parla sul labbro amor. Quel vezzo finto Quel guardo instabile Gia ben m' avvedo ch'e mentitor. ---------------------- No, I do not believe you, beatiful, loveable features, how ever much you speak of love. That false charm, that restless gaze, I see clearly is deceitful. ---------------- A tender affection tells me that I should love you whether merciful or angry and I shall love you If anger should leave your heart, I would hope for no more than to reign over your heart.

I assumed it was Vivaldi because of the red hair, fancy collar and pauldron (spaulder?). I'm curious as to this also. Such beautiful rendering of that glorious hair!

I presume Count Sava Vladislavic Raguzinski in his early years as ambassador in Venice, because La verità in cimento was dedicated to him by Vivalid.
@pepamethodman Жыл бұрын
Antonio Vivaldi dedicated La verità in cimento to Vladislavich[3] in Venice in 1720. While in Italy, among other commissions, he supervised the education of Russian nobles (such as painter Ivan Nikitich Nikitin) and prepared important, secret political treaties with Pope Clement XI. It was he who acquired in Venice an assortment of marble statues that still decorate the Summer Garden in St. Petersburg.
