Funny enough I heard his sandal performance before this one and I must say it's my preferred. This one is amazing in it's own way though, it's so much softer but sharp. Very pure and pristine with the strings helping you feel the movement of the song while his voice floats above it all. Where the sandal performance was darker and had a bit of sorrow to it, this one sounds like an angel singing to you.
@aleahlrb Жыл бұрын
I think part of it is that this is a recording booth, he can go softer, but in the sandal performance, he's performing to a bigger audience and needed to pronounce his voice more, hence the "stronger" performance.
@groenterras6 ай бұрын
@@aleahlrb ah, not really for a broad audience (they were both alone in the abbey while the did the 'sandal performance'. When you look again to that video, you'll see that there is a group of guys sitting on a table and doing smith, definitely not an audience. I read the story behind and was fascinated by it!! While they were in Aix en provence for the festival, someone of the radio called and asked if they were ok to sing smith live. It was fully a l'improviste, since they were only there to check if everything was ok for their performance that night, so they accepted. This video went totally viral since nobody ever heard this before. It rocketed Orlinsky from a local star to a worldwide star overnight, so the season after that Aix song, he was in all the major houses in Europe, even in GlyndBourne. Even we, as very frequent concert goers, we were flabbergasted from the first note. The above recording is of course not simple live recording, like the 'sandal video'. Watch here the few shots of Maxim conducting: he's one of my absolute fantastic trouvailles of last couple of years! That man radiates energy and manages every time to bring it over to the musicians; you hear also his Russian soul in it, I find, full of both energy and nostalgia

Jakub Orliński is a very young talented artist and a newcomer. He gets always better and better in his own interpretation and technique. I buy every CD from him and with him and i wish him all the best. He is also my favorite as countertenor like P. Jaroussky or M. Cencic or X. Sabata ..... and some one more. Everybody have his own technique and timbre, but it makes so different fantastic. The orchester Il Pomo doro is also a very good orchester. For the people who think they know about Vivaldi and claim that he composed only for women..Well you’re are wrong Vivaldi only wrote male roles for female singers only in the sacred music commissioned by the ospedale della Pietà. Like “Juditha Triumphans”. Vivaldi ‘s operatic work (Like all the composers of the time ) was written for castrati singers, for example this Aria “Vedrò con mio diletto “ That is sung by the character Anastasio, a role written for castrato Giovanni Ossi.
