Bad release date, no chartbusters songs, overconfidence before release, runtime, routine story, and high pre biz at 30 crores. I watched the movie in theaters and it was good for up until about 2 hours and then last hour tested patience like anything. There are definitely good parts of the movie no doubt, but by the end you feel the length. Vivek Athreya has great talent in writing we have to accept but his problem is he wants to give closure to all the characters and as a result the runtime is increased and hampers the pacing of the movie. If he can bring it down to 2.5 hour mark, he will start doing wonders. Runtime is never an issue if movie is entertaining, but in Ante Sundaraniki case too drawn out and tested audience patience so it failed. Also story is same as Kamal Hassan Maro Charithra where inter religion or inter cultural marriage wants to happen.

My friend knows Vivek Athreya and he told me Vivek has a deep understanding of Hinduism and mythology yet he chooses not to force it into his stories. Instead, he focuses on creating stories that appeal to a broad audience without casting actors from different languages. Unlike some directors who are corrupting Telugu cinema by unnecessarily adding Hinduism to impress North India and the BJP, Vivek Athreya stays true to his artistic vision. Many of our legendary directors made movies like Anji, Ammoru and many more without trying to appease North or some political party and they felt authentic. We need directors like Vivek Athreya to keep Telugu cinema pure and untainted.

1:17:09 first off, i really loved the interview. All of your questions were great!! I have one nitpicky thing , no hate but this is something that necessarily didnt go well with me. Anytime vivek was answering your questions, you would interrupt him by ask him by asking to elaborate on a specific tangent. Personally i think its great that you are going in depth on every detail but i think it'll be slightly better if you ask him those tangent questions once he is doing talking. Ex: here in the time stamp mentioned, he clearly started talking about ante movie and his son but then you asked him to elaborate on why he thinks saripodhaa is not his best script/his weak points or arcs according to him. ( a great question btw) but By doing that, he never got to complete what he was actually trying to say. Sorry for the long comment....

Vivek Athreya is a gem who needs to be preserved. Ante Sundaraniki is amongst the Best 25 films I have seen in my entire life. The practice of shooting till the last minute of release needs to be stopped as it creates a high probability of the quality being compromised. Atleast 2-3 months of post production time needs to be given so that the director can rework on any shortcoming if any. It broke my heart seeing Vivek look extremely tired and drained out in this interview. Hope the producers & the lead actor especially first finish the entire product & then announce the release date without succumbing to the pressures from OTT platforms or other players. A film stays forever even after centuries hence there is no harm in taking a little more time in delivering quality output. Long Live Telugu Cinema!

Vivek Athreya's movies as everyone say are very good and we wait for his movies. After watching his interview after ante S movie i got more interested towards that. Ante S is a script which a brilliant script and giving tense in such level of movies i never seen it before. Earlier we used to wait for Trivikram's interviews/speeches, now he has become busy and very rarely he is coming out. Vivek has replaced him, because of his openness in his talks and more informative and in-depth analysis that he shares in his interviews.
