Between the preferable and pleasurable, the one that is preferable - should be choosen. Him whom the Atman chooses - to him he reveals everything. Katha upanishad. Human life is like a chariot ride : the horses are the senses, the reins are the Mind, the charioteer being the intellect, the chariot is the body and the rider being the atman itself. Some amount of control is needed at every aspect of the ride, to reach the destination - the higher goal in life.
