vivi is a great character, a truly universal one. everyone around the world can relate to him, something not true for most of ff characters.

Vivi's story is the most grounded and relatable as it has moments of many peices. 1. A wish to belong. Feeling like a stranger among the crowds and simply wishing to find somewhere to feel like you belong. 2. The fear of death, Vivi is confronted with the eventuality of death and how quickly it can come. He has to accept what happens but knows to fill such short years with as much love and experience. 3. Growing confidence against adversity. He's shy and uncertian of his own strengths. But he grows into a stronger person through his journey, learning to have confidence in himself and his friends. To inspire others to live the lives they so choose. 4. Learning to say goodbye. Knowing when you have to say goodbye to those you love. That you may never see them again but you'll always cherish their memory and role in your life.

I'm currently coming up with a story for Vivi. It is a fanfic sequel to FF9 and it focuses on Vivi and his journey to save his kind from dying. It takes place a week after Zidane's departure at the Iifa tree and Vivi reunites with old friends while also making new ones, characters I created to help him along his journey. I won't spoil any details but it will be a story of the meaning of life, how to stand up to fear itself and to always embrace life with happiness and love.

I love Vivi both as a party member and a character; he really acts as the child's eyes into the world of FF9. He grows so much from learning about the reality of his existence and chooses to press forward to protect his friends. I love his growth to be more confident in himself in spite of his circumstances. As a party member and with the right abilities, Vivi can really became a threat in Disc 2 once he can get Bio and -ra elemental spells. By Disc 4, he kind of sells short on damage but he can easily pick up the slack with Reflectx2 though that set up is expensive. One thing that disappointed me is how his Ultimate weapon was handled and his last spells are kind of a pain to use (Meteor missing).

The spellcaster weapons were underwhelming, but the game encourages you to test and try different moves and builds. Its entirely possible to have a melee build only with the spellcasters. As even Vivi's staves cause elemental damage or status effects. Vivi's strength comes from utilizing his spells to the best options. Even as reflect comes into effect as well. By bypassing elemental defenses or using magic that isn't elemental, he can deal high damage. Flare for example is his primary tool, with high spirit, meteor can be reliably used as well.

It is coubersome and costly but the reflec x2 flare cimbo might be one of the most low effort ways to get 9999 damage compared to things like catching 99 frogs ore killing 100 dragons and I love the dark absorb Doomsday combo. Dealing massive damage to all enemies and healing the entire party is amazing. In my current playthrough I did a good chunk of the chocobo sidequest which resultet in Vivi getting flare and Eiko getting holy before the dessert palace. But once you get the hildagard 3 vivi can get flare rathee easily without that side quest.

Not sure why, but from playing this one, it reminded me of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Maybe it was the desolate settings in most areas, followed by the many forms(many weird and interestingly odd shapes) of the characters...

I think all RPG characters have a serious problem with their lack of cleanliness and inability to relieve themselves in the bathroom. I've seen many of them eat, so they gotta produce waste. Couple that with little to no bathing and you've got stink ass peeps after a 40+ hr adventure. Ff10 bypasses this through all the time in the water but I wouldn't wanna play blitz ball in that gross sphere.
