For those confused about rows 2-5 just keep doing those front post single crochets, even if they do clump up a bit. It will “stretch itself out” when you start doing the rest of the bag. Just trust the process, at least that’s what worked for me!

I’ve made this bag 3 times now and I LOVE the look of the final bag, but am adjusting for the size I want. After my second try I thought it was perfect (slightly smaller) but I put stuff in the bag and it stretched out SO MUCH! Hoping this final attempt will be my last so I can have the perfect bag for summer !!

How did you adjust the base to make it smaller? How many rows did u crochet instead because since i’m using a bit of a thicker yarn and it’s turning out bigger than the video and i was hoping to make it smaller without messing up the ratio of stitches

@@Caroline-ti2xk I kept the width the same of 16 chains long, but for the length of the base I only did 35 rows instead of 45. The bag is still over sized but not HUGE like I accidentally made it the first time. Also I noticed my yarn stretched out a lot when I put items in the bag, so I only did about 10 double crochets for the sides

What yarn did you use? Using acrylic yarn might be the problem. It’s important to use 100% cotton since it doesn’t stretch at the end :)

Hi Vivi. For row 1-5 of the Body, after Slip Stitch should we do 1 ch then Front Post SC each OR we just need straightly do Front Post SC accordingly ( no need to add 1 ch?).

What I did for rows 2-5 is after the first front post stich, I went and do a double crochet across then front post stich then DC then front post until I reach row 5. Looked okay though 😅 Hope this helps!!!!

You can make one by just increasing the chains of the base. It has to be an odd number though. For example I made one with 36 chains

Somehow when doing the first round of dc I ended up doing mine on the opposite side that you had it... so say if you were at the short side of doing the dc I was up to the long side.. I assume that's because I either shorted or added a row of the 47 rows... If you could explain how you counted the rows please lol. I also have 129 stiches around instead of the 128. Help

this is a lot later than ur comment but U can it just might make the bottom of ur bag more droopy because of the mesh stitch, I would just do normal single crochet rows for that part and it will pretty much achieve the same
