This is so cool. I had always told myself I would do a youtube search for this cartoon, so I finally remembered to look it up. All I could remember about this cartoon was a pair of hands cutting a piece of paper and making a dog out of it, and the sound of the dogs bark. I remember watching this right before I had to go to school. Which for me was 1st grade in 1967. I guess I was watching the reruns. It's such a long time ago. Like a dream.

Wow. I thought I was the only person on Earth who even remembered Snip and Snap. :-)

Yes!!! A friend of mine found this for me tonight! I was starting to think I dreamed it! They used to run these between Gumby cartoons when I was a wee one in the late 60's! 68 or 9 maybe even 70 I think?..I loved it!!! :D

The only thing more surprising than that I'm not the only human being in existence to remember this show, is that I seem to have accurately remembered the credits and music. And I haven't seen it since I was 4 years old or so.

Holy Toledo! I remember these Snip and Snap animated features shown on Chicago's WGN in the mid 1960's. Thought I'd never see one of these again! Thanks for posting!

Didn't know they made it over here. I don't suppose a station in my town played 'em too (Toledo, OH).

Snap & Snap popped it my head today for the first time in many years for no reason at all so was delighted to find this, I remember a comic gave away a cut out Snap around the time the show started on British TV ... Now were can I find Foo Foo?

Thanks for posting this, Vivien Halas. I purchased this full length cartoon from you about 18 years ago on a VHS tape. Have enjoyed it very much (and, yes, I have stuck rigorously to the copyright agreement). Would be great to see all of these cartoons made available again. I remember one other episode in particular (from about 1963 or so) where the Bulldog (called Snarl?) was in some way threatening either the smaller dog or the Scotty dog as it sailed in a paper boat set amidst paper waves. Curious to see how closely my three-year-old experience recall parallels the actual story line of that 'Snip and Snap' cartoon. Very creative cartoons, these paper-based gems!

Mimo że to minęło pół wieku pamiętam te filmy nadawane na Dobranockę. Pametam też jak Adam Słodowy uczył jak wycinać głównego bohatera z kartki papieru. Z chęcią obejrzałbym te filmy. Takich krótkich animowanych filmów w owych czasach było więcej. Bez eksplozji, ciosów karate i epatowania przemocą.

I couldn't remember the name of this show and I've been trying to figure it out for about 20 or 30 years. Finally came across it in a list of 60's animation and naturally came hunting on KZbin. My search is over! Thanks for posting!

I remember watching Snip and Snap when they aired on Channel 9 in New York in the mid to late 60s. The animation was very unique. Hopefully, some more episodes can be downloaded on KZbin.

Ja, Thok Søndergaard var måske Jørgen Clevins inspirator. Havde det held at arbejde sammen med ham på Laterna Film året efter. Han var en festlig fyr. Had the opportunity to work with Thok in 61 in Copenhagen. He was animator on some scenes in Børge Høst's documentary on Niels Bohr.

Wasn't Thok Søndergaard the paper sculptor also involved in this? I read thst he along with Halas were directors of these shorts...but no mention of him here at all.
