Super glad you guys got around to these! I love my Tracker Forest ESC boots with the thicker michilin sole, but i was worried about the durability of their AT line. Unfortunate to see that the soles seem to wear out quickly. I will say that Vivo often has 20-25% off codes floating around to help take some of the sting out of that price tag
@sonsofsever

@@thehamburglar1084 yeah even just the 20% puts them in line with what we think would be worth it based off the competition, wish there was a discount going on when we got em 😅

@@sonsofsever They've had a referal program for years that gives you -20% for each referral. Anyone can do it. You can do your own referral by having 2 accounts, or use a code from various KZbinrs advertising theirs. I've never paid full price for a Vivo lol.

Cost and width are the reasons I never invested in vivo, even though years ago, I thought they were all I was going to buy. There's so many brands now and vary in shapes, so it's way easier to find something that matches your foot shape at varying budgets. I was going to suggest maybe filing that speed hook rather than bending, so you can take just a bit of material off at a time till you give it its "speed" back. 😃 Thank you gents, I like some of the designs, and will follow and support the company on socials as well as enter contests to win them, but will save my pennies for other things.

Great review guys! You did not mention if the 10mm stack bothers you, it's pretty thin. I had a pair of Vivo hiking boots and it killed my feet because of the heel scratching on my skin. I am a happy owner of the Boulder grip thanks to you 😊
@sonsofsever
@sonsofsever Ай бұрын
@@michelezanolla7154 the thin stack height is definitely something that would stop us from taking it on longer hikes, our feet just aren't quite that strong yet I suppose. Can definitely go much further in a Boulder Grip haha. For shorter stuff though, I really like the Tracker!

Just got them this week but textile version, will test them soon. Fortunately vivo have 20% off quite often, otherwise these would be crazy expensive.

Good reviews. How about some thoughts on companies that have bigger sizes. A Size 15 here. Also the fit of the footwear. I'm wide in front but need a snugger heel. Nice job though over all, take care.

Bigger sizes is something we'll have to put more on our radar. Since our feet aren't very big that's definitely something we've neglected to think about, could make for a really good video though!

I do like the soles of vivo shoes. They really are very minimal with their shoes and that rubber lasts a long time for how thin it is. The materials used are high quality and the brand is all about reusing the shoes and you can send them in to get a new sole. I only casually wear them no hiking and always bought second hand from people who went straight into barefoot shoes 😂

You can only send them in if you're in the UK to my knowledge or at least every time I've tried the site tells me that

You can only send in a few of the boots in the USA and only through nushoe it costs $120. I buy all my vivos second hand as well. I've had a couple glue failures I've been able to fix.

@martinzendejas8423 I happened to have gorilla glue gel (super glue not the big tube) but any good gel glue will work E6000 is great just be careful not to use too much and tape off areas of you're worried about overspill.

Going to check out Barebarics' new insulated shoes for winter? There is a "Frost" version of the Zing with Primaloft insulation and a beefier sole, and a more high-top/short boot style one called the Urbanedge with the same sole. I'm torn between the two for my delivery job for the fast approaching winter, need to decide before the black friday sale ends but theres no content on them anywhere :(

One of the reasons vivobarefoot is so expensive is because they're B Corp. So they pay the people who make them a fair wage. They're not made for 1$ an hour by a child in China. The material on the Esc sole is much more durable in my experience. Although i wear my soles down much more slowly now since I run and walk with Keith Bateman and Heidi Jones way. Older Yet Faster is the best barefoot running method.

The only let down for me really on the Tracker Leather AT is the cotton lining which holds on to moisture inside the boot and slows drying time. Would have been better with no lining at all. The description in the website is also incorrect as it mentions - "Breathable Mesh" but there is no mesh in the boot at all.

I have this exact boot. Overall it's very comfy and functional. Only issue is that one of lace hooks on the ankle popped out during a hike, and now it is too loose to go back in. Seems to be a design flaw IMO, they aren't secured very well looking at how it came out.

I can get them a bit cheaper on revivo or second hand and 2 things you don't mention is their second to none environmental ethos and their service with 100 day no questions asked return policy. I've learned over time that couple of years down the line you don't even remember how much you paid for a pair of shoes.. what you do know though is whether you love it or not, if it makes you a bit happier every time you use it. And that's what vivo give me..

So vivos fit me weird. Wide toe box for those who have their big toe as the longest. Not as much for those of us with the second or third toe being the longest. Sizing is weird too. My Primus Lite IIIs at size 10 are too long but a 9 is too narrow at the forefoot. In fact, even at a size 10 I find that they are narrower than I like due to the plastic eyelets causing the shoe to be restrictive. As such I use elastic laces that are basically not tightened at all. I will say that I don't think my Lems are wider in the forefoot but because they are cloth and mesh, they stretch much, much more whereas the vivos are static on my foot, which is super uncomfortable. Now, I have less issues with the Primus Knit. It is actually tighter, but it stretches more so it doesn't feel as uncomfortable. Which leads me to a question. How do you feel about the width on these boots, particularly in the forefoot? (I'm a 4E, so things get complicated.) I really wish they'd release a wide model boot and shoe like many other barefoot companies do rather than making 370 different models that rotate seasonally. I enjoy the ultra-thin soles. I don't like ANY squish in a shoe, or it hurts my lateral arches. If vivos fit me better, width wise, they'd be perfect, but it is what it is. Thanks for the review as always!

had mine 3 weeks and the sole is delaminating on both boots on the inside edge of the boot where the rubber guard meets the sole, so rubber on rubber fail which is even worse, havent even been on a hike with them yet as was still wearing them in, very dissapointed for such an expensive boot, such a shame as a great looking and feeling boot

@@sonsofsever Agreed... ...it seems to be very difficult to make soles that are soft and durable at the same time. I - as someone who hikes a lot - have come to terms with the fact that barefoot shoe soles don't last that long. However, I couldn't cope with putting down $250 each and every time.
