Yeah I think in cases the v40 does better though, with white balance and feel. But solid but both need work, And of course it really depends on what you like in look and feel the rest ^^

Very, very close between the two. Good to see good cameras come to the budget range, but I'm waiting for the day when you get Leica lenses on phones from €300 up.

The colour science on the phones seems to be all over the place. Some times the V40 over-yellows everything, other times it's the "Pro" that does it. Reminds me of the current existing nightmare on Samsung phones.

Samsung is a bit of a stretch hahaha, But it does go for a more "bright" shot, and there of course preference starts to play, but I don't like bright shots myself, it feels more flat then a shot that has effective shadows for instance! Far better!

Since you have seen both, the vivo v40 pro and the one plus 12 camera, which one is better out of the two? I'm torn between the one plus 12 and the vivo v40 pro as my next smartphone. both are about the same price and camera experience is an important factor in my smartphone usage

mmmm so smartphone usage is a bit of a tricky one because each has their own preference. I would give a bit of an edge to Oneplus in terms of software, in terms of camera, honestly that is harder because it depends on the style you like, I would say the vivo by default is brighter, but has better contrast under textured, Oneplus is a bit less bright but doesn't have that same contrast level. Might do a direct comparison between the 2

Mmmm v27 isn't that old, bigger difference is a lot on the ultra wide, it being a good amount better on the V40, battery life as well, and the display should be a decent amount brighter. And collab now with zeiss for it, so you get some styles you don't have on the v27. I think it's a good upgrade but not a CRAZY update

The Pro has issues with green-magenta WB, with it being too green most of the time but too magenta sometimes. Same issue with V27 and V29 (which I have). I was hoping they fixed it, disappointed they didn't especially in the pro model. The vanilla is better in terms of WB. Could you do V30 vs V40 please? ❤

@@bprabawabr Some are, but no with that shot it isn't I had more narration planned for it, where I was commenting on those, more so on the V40 pro then on the V40, because there is this od hase on it, but if I would go through each single shot the video would have been crazy long and I know people wouldn't want that long video style hahaha.

And agreed, they need some work. Of course style it all depends on your liking, like saturation, brightness and sharpening. I cannot judge that for someone, and I try to not give too much of a YOU MUST LIKE THIS! effect, because I don't want people to feel like their taste/preference is bad for photography. Hope that makes sense?

Yeah, I often would say get the base version in cases like these unless you take a lot of low light shots. From time to time the less processing and less bright images makes the v40 stand out a bit more.

Another great review/comparison 👍👍👍 I'm on the lookout for a new phone that is capable of recording horses that move around fast, and problems I've been experiencing with my previous phones is that the focus and exposure seem to be "working overtime" so all depending on where I point the phone, the brightness, focus, and exposure makes the quality of the image really bad... Actually one of the "best" phones that did not tend to make all colours become a mess was my old Sony Xperia Compact which I used years ago, but it was just not good enough to make the imagery crystal clear/sharp as it wasn't able to record videos with a high resolution and FPS, such as current phones can. But I'll attach a link to one of my older videos and you'll be able to see what I mean (hopefully) But I'm thinking about either one of the latest Nubia Ultra phones, the Z60S Pro, but also been considering the Oppo Reno 12 Pro, the Realme 12 Pro +, the OnePlus Nord 4, OnePlus 12, and even the much older Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. mmmmm so I would then not go for something like this, shutterspeed will probably be a bit slow. I would honestly go for something like the Sony Xperia 1 V, that has great shutterspeed and the camera app it has is really good to capture those kinds of shots! And they have 4k 120fps. But unsure if you can find it for 800 euro's to be fair! But maybe something like the xiaomi 13 Pro would work as well, but you have to use manual mode then to shoot those kinds of shots! Z60s Pro is nice with the main camera, and you can use street, it's pretty fast in shutterspeed and the 35MM is very nice, but I have never tried those kinds of shots on it, so it's hard to judge it fully based on that.
