Hmm, it's a bit too much hit or miss for me, especially that weird behaviour of the telephoto. I must say that i am absolutely shocked how good the ultrawide on 13 is, it seriously does not make any sense for 12 ultrawide to be that much worse. They really had to not put much effort into its processing last year. Honestly the two things i am the most disappointed though in the 13 are the night photos that no longer look like night photos - we no longer get dark darks and night sky that actually looks like dark sky. Too bad, OnePlus was unique in that regard. The other thing is the video. They need to fix it, right now it looks straight-up bad. You said in the video that it "definitely looks better on OnePlus 13" but that's not what my eyes see. The 13's video is straight-up soft, the grass looks like a green mush compared to the one on OP12.

I think this video only proves what I've been saying for a while now that smartphones have plateued so much that with each 'upgrade' there's actually a lot of downsides not just positives. You would expect everything to be an upgrade but that's objectively (and subjectively) not the case. Samsung are guilty too

I'm surprised the ultrawide is so good on the OP13, also the new prism design telephoto sensor should let in more light than the square design of the OP12 periscope. So in theory it should make better low light photos. But since it's a new sensor/design it still needs software tweaking I guess.

I loved OP12 last year because I thought low light shots had a really warm night feel to it. I think OP13 kinda loses a bit of this but has better detail in most scenarios during low light.

They gave a new update of 400 mb for camera issues please check and make a new video on it is there any difference after update 😅

I guess that op13 will shine after some months of development. If I can fix some problems of op12 with Gcam, I can't improve it's video performance in other way than using a gimbal and a 3-rd party app like mcpro 24 fps. Thanks for the comparison and excellent photos!

Great video, sometimes the photo of the OnePlus 13 looks close to Samsung photos, with more light in the photo. The ultrawide of the OnePlus looks weak. I will share my thoughts next week when I have my OnePlus 12.

Wow 13's wide lens is actually so good, I wish it was a bit wider. I see a lot of potential here and I hope future updates will improve camera performance

personally, i think the oneplus 13 seems to be still in the early stages, such as the front camera stutters, its low light improvement over the 12 is ok, i think what mainly sets it apart from its previous generations are the battery capacity and performance, i keep thinking they only thought of the cameras as an afterthought just so they can somewhat compete againts vivo, this phone really only shines with its other smaller features theyve added like ultrasonic fingerprint reader, 360degree nfc including a overkill amount of wifi and celluar antennas, the ip69 rating and the oneplus version of magsafe. theyve only recently just added the macro mode to the phone via a software update, which still shows its in its development stages. So i think i will wait until 3 months after they release the global model, with oxygen os and see if they do have any differences in processing, as by then they wouldve polished all the small bugs and maybe an improvement in camera performance.

In my opinion the one plus 13 wins but for my use i would not buy it to be honist great video tho

When taking random photos your not going to day omg i don't want the photos to look great or brighter or sharper . This is for a pro type moment where you need thst pro type moments . Not when your taking photos. I dont understand why you are and all around go for this when all ee wany is to tske s photo and so ot can look good at that exact moment.. I think people who are professionals should say yes but for the average person they want good photos to look great at first glance . Stop trying to push the narrative of pro photography to just taking photos. People dont want bland dark photos and thats it .

Can't wait for you to cover the New Nubia Z70 ultra with variable aperture, I bought the nubia z60 ultra very recently one of the reasons for that decision was how good the photos looked when you tested the leading version.
