I like Honor honestly. Most people think that darker human photos are more realistic and doesn't. I dont like beautification neither but nowadays most portraits look dark. I have a daughter with blue eyes and almost phones except iphone 13 pro max and some old Oppos make the blue eyes look dark. Thats not true to life so I give a point to honor in that rising shadows!

I feel like the Honor doesn't add smoothing. It just doesn't have the details, and combined with the lifted shadows reducing effective contrast, it looks like there's smoothing.

Excellent comprehensive comparison. The magic 6 pro is disappointing overall for the camera performance. The only place where I think the Magic 6 pro was better was the selfie photos. I also think Honor should have used more than 2.5x for the periscope. It's a good periscope sensor but 2.5x is a bit limited for higher zoom ranges. Personally thought the Honor magic 5 pro was very good as it was the cheapest major brand pro flagship in China (maybe apart from Nubia) and the camera performance whilst not the very top was good. The magic 6 pro has increased the price compared to the last generation without much, if any improvement (might even be worse). I think the Vivo x100 pro is the best camera phone at its price point in China. Still it isn't perfect either. There is a bit red tint in some few human subject photos. Still it is definitely excellent overall and the periscope performance is probably the best yet for a single periscope.

Thank you for this video! I need a phone with global rom for work purposes. I was between the honor magic 6 pro and the ZTE nubia z60 ultra leading edition as they both go for around 800 euros in my country. After watching your video, I think I'll got with the nubia. I don't care at all about selfies! But, I do care about the back cameras, especially zoom! I wish vivo x100 pro or ultra had global releases :(

I tried the Magic 5 Pro so I didn't have high hopes for the 6 Pro. Honor is way behind in sw, it's definitely not Huawei dna. Instead of focusing on taking good pictures, they apply lots of stupid effects with lot of artifacts. Anyway, i need a small phone, so might go with a vanilla xiaomi 14 or oppo find n3 flip. If i were to buy a big phone, i would go with the oneplus 12. It's super cheap compared to the other high end phones.

I have been owning a second-hand Honor Magic5 Pro since late last August and all are in line with things you mentioned. Still it takes pretty good photos so I can keep my Olympus E-M5 ii body, Olympus Pro, and PanaLeica lenses in cabinet and only bring my phone with me.

@@diff1980 Wondering if they updated the sw a bit. The tele could take some really amazing photos sometime. There's potential in Honor, but they need to invest more into software. I went with the xiaomi 13 pro at the time. A bit better, but consistency on chinese phones is worse. You never know how the final picture will look like. I still rather take my Canon G5x MKII with me.

For me, till now ViVo X series is the king for photos and overall x100pro is a better option than Honor but Honor has a very good OS and hardware. I'll pick anytime ViVo over Honor. Thanks a ton, Han bhai, for the in details review love and much respect always :)

Selfie video looks way better on Vivo, true to life colors, better dynamic range. On the human subject I like Honor, the colors look kinda saturated from Vivo. On portrait is completely the opposite, Vivo is the beast of portraits at the moment. I wouldn't mind any of both selfies, since I never take selfies 😂. On night photos Honor looks to overbrighten the dark areas and Vivo goes for more true to life view. On ultrawide and zoom night photos Vivo is amazing. Way better than Honor. On night video, Honor goes for more over processed video with brighter view but looks like AI generated, meanwhile Vivo goes for more true to life colors and handle light better. On daytime photos, Honor looks like you're out on a foggy day and not a normal day. I hope they fix this issue with software updates because if they don't no one is spending money on this phone. Vivo truly amazing, I'd say the best phone right now for cameras for it's price point. Hopefully X100 pro plus will be even better and take the crown . Great review brother Han ❤❤❤

Another consideration: I prefer a 2,5x lens for portraits instead of a 4,3x one... But results have to be superior, not inferior! Let's wait and we'll see

The video stability and light flickering on the X100 Pro is terrible! Even the "auto exposure" during the day seems bad. Especially when you're moving the camera. And those 1st few portraits made the X100 look like it had a red tint over all it's photos. I'm planning on getting the X100 Ultra but I'm still not sold.

I don't know how can you not see the oversharpening applied by vivo to all the pictures. Almost every photo taken with the Honor magic 6 is way better in terms of sharpening and texture. You see more details on vivo just because it does the same thing samsung does, oversharpening .... Wait for DXomark review. Currently vivo x100 pro scored 150 In the camera department, which is lower than the magic5 pro ... I bet honor will crush vivo there.

Also, the colours are too saturated. DXomark currently doesn't display the camera score because probably honor asked them to do so until they fix some stuff. It will definitely be lower than honor magic 5 pro this year....

The problem is the Vivo isn't global. So there's no point with the Vivo and Oppo. For me, I would love the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. But it isn't global. So Honor it is.
