The Vivo is a bit louder but falls slightly short in isolating the voice as you can hear the surroundings loud and clear. The iPhone did a better job of focusing on the voice while clearing unwanted audio. They both did a good job but that’s the difference between the two.

This is an incredible device. The camera is in a whole different league to anything else on the market. I deliberated over this and the oppo find x8 pro but went for the oppo as its software experience just seems to be a little better fleshed out while still having an awesome camera. Also the oppo was natively available in the UK where as I'd have to import the global rom Vivo.

The camera isn't in a different league at all. The Oppo Find x7 ultra and Vivo x100 ultra have better main cameras and ultrawides. They also have better zoom from two to 3.6x especially the Oppo Find x7 ultra. It's very good but it's not the best out there at all.

I do have to agree on that, my pixels front camera is trash. Both pixel 4a and 7pro takes blurry photos and when shooting directly in sun it makes my face grey

Definitely my phone of the year 2024 no contest. I thought I was gonna enter 2025 with the 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL but ended up selling the Pixel 9 Pro XL as the X200 Pro has superior battery life, camera and overall performance (it can actually play games at reasonable level expected of flagships).

The problem is when you sell it after four years someone else loves that iPhones will get 2-3 years more updates whereas they lose that with Vivo. These phones can last 7-10 years so only 4 years is a big negative. I am on my sixth iOS version and looking at what Apple says, I may get another two versions. Name me one Android phone from back then that is still getting Android updates?

Honestly that is the one thing that is bad about this phone. Software needs a massive overhaul. It's immature and with the financial success this phone is bringing in, VIVO should invest heavily in a software engineering department to get an infant OS into a teenage or young adult level OS. If they have the brains to create the best camera processing and sensor combination by far in a smartphone, they can create a decent, respectable OS experience too.

You know that at x100 no phone can give you good results or pictures that you can benefit from in general at this magnification. But Vivo is completely, although it is possible even if it is oily.. But the approximation up to 3.7 is the best ever

Great review and I understand where you're coming from. The iPhone and Samsung are more complete packages. But I think that the X200 Pro will become a cult classic just like the P30 Pro did, because of its camera + processor + battery performance. If they improve the software a bit more, you'd have the "perfect" phone for a lot of people.

I agree with you. Overall as usual, Galaxy S Ultra and iPhone Pro Max phones tick most boxes. Vivo is not worldwide, so it already is out of the list for most people. Xiaomi is still more global among the other Chinese brands.

The X200 Ultra will sadly have the same camera sensors as the Pro. (But at a different focal length!) The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, however, will have the same periscope sensor as the Vivo while also using the 1 inch sensor of the X100 Ultra.

I have this phone. Two things are incorrect in your review. The haptics are terrible, and the camera sensors are less than 1", not more than 1". That said, I believe this is absolutely the best phone of the year.

Not enough if you take everthing else into account from not even being able to buy it locally to the poor support, and 3 years less updates. Cameras for most people now are just a small part of their choice as for most the primary camera is all they need and most phones are solid in that department.

matter of fact, vivo had better camera setup even at the beginning of 2024 with x100 ultra, same telephoto sensor and 1 inch sensor for main camera. I would say in terms of cameras galaxy is lagging at least one year behind vivo.

Yes, S-pen is a niche demographic and if you use that, the S24U is your only choice. So for the billions that do not use an s-pen it is moot.

If you cannot buy it in the West then for me it is moot and therefore impossible to give number one to. You must have availability otherwise it is meaningless. Otherwise an OEM could make one great phone with only one unit that destroys every rival, but as only one person can own it, then it is irrelevant.

The Vivo X200 Pro has a weak selfie camera, and it's Ultrawide has poor detail resolution when viewed on a larger screen. It's selfie portrait shots end up looking cartoon like, almost like emojis. In video, it's stabilization at 4K 60 is poor, and several reviewers have commented that you need very very steady hands to record quality usable video at this resolution and framerate. In lowlight video, the devices 4K 30 video at 5x zoom and above is noisy and muddy and weak compared to all it's main rivals. The device is top heavy and unbalanced due to it's large camera array to the point where wireless charging can be problematic. The software and software optimization on the device are not the best by some margin, and Vivo's customer support is not the best also. This could make importing one very risky. The above faults can all be verified by simple Google searches, and represent why many Western consumers are confused by the hype surrounding this device. Yes, it can take some great pictures if you use the right lenses in the right conditions, but it isn't such a great device overall. And no, I am not a fan of the boring and overpriced and unimaginative, average camera equipped offerings of Apple and Samsung either. I just don't want good hardworking people to be pushed into buying something that is having it's negative issues glossed over.
