So anyways, this Vivobarefoot Primus Trail 2 review covers the all-weather/winter version of these shoes.
Marginally different, the only things different between these and the regular Primus Trail FG is the material of the upper.
What feels like a neoprene-type material you'd find on a wetsuit, it's definitely insulating, warming, and a bit water repellant.
Not to the extent that you'd be waterproof, but dries fast and keeps your feet warm!
Overall, I like them a lot! I also love the OG Primus Trail FG a ton and would say there're the better choice if you don't live in a frequently wet or cold place.

AMAZING content! witch primus trail would be best suited for AG soccer? taking in consideration that the most important thing is to protect the upper fabric . Is duck taping an option?

Awesome reviews bud. I live here in Sheffield, England and we have the Peak District national park few minutes away with varied trails, muddy to peat to rocky all in one run so your review has been very helpful as I just want to buy a good multi purpose shoe. I was thinking of getting the soft ground version but I think it won't cope well if ill have to some miles of road sections as sometimes I run from my house to the trails. Keep doing awesome, if you are ever in this part of the world give us a shout would love to show you some of our trails around here.

Thanks! :) yeah knowing UK climate, it'll be wet, boggy, and muddy on your trails. I think the SG version would cope better and is still decent to run on pavement for a while (few KM shouldn't be too bad). Thing is, they don't make an SG version of the Primus Trail Winter which is a shame. No footwear will keep you entirely dry in UK conditions. Maybe also look into Sealskinz socks? They make awesome fully waterproof merino wool socks and a few friends of mine love em. Like said above, the Primus Trail Winter/All-weather won't keep you dry, but they'll keep your feet warm - happened last night to me while cycling in Berlin here - torrential downpour and I got soaked but stayed warm because of that wetsuit-like neoprene :) Hope I helped! If I'm around Sheffield I'll let you know

Great review man, was trying to order and get a 25 percent off is it for just one person? I click on link and it doesn't apply 25 percent off. If you don't know a actual code no worries. I appreciate the videos!

Vivo says on their website that these particular pair fit small. Would you agree with this? I wear a 44 in primus lite 3, should I get a 45 in these?
@JamesFromCanada

Actually yes I would agree! My latest pair felt a bit tight!

Hi man! Nice review! Would you recommend the Trial also for daily use on urban and asphalt or the sole is uncomfortable for that purpose? I was thinking to buy a pair of Primus Lite III for daily use in city and a pair of Trail II FG waterproof for hiking, but unfortunately from some weeks on their site it's all sold out except for the non-waterproof Trail II FG. Would you recommend me to wait or can i go easy and just buy it now for all terrains? Thanks in advance!
@JamesFromCanada
@JamesFromCanada 3 жыл бұрын
Heyhey! Yeah they're perfectly fine for flat city streets but maybe you'd like the Primus Lite for summer anyways (these weatherproof ones are pretty toasty in the summer) :)

@@JamesFromCanada Thanks! Since the Vivo's team told me that shoes will be back in stock within 4-5 weeks i'll wait for and buy both.. and ofc if it also works for shipments to other EU countries beyond UK i'll remember to use your affiliate link ;)

@@stefanoshiroi9078 much love :) Which months & areas areas are you hiking in? I had the regular Primus Trails and went hiking *all* over with them and would prefer them over the weatherproof ones in most circumstances (during warm weather)

Hey Stefano, I know your post was 8 months ago, but just thought I'd suggest the Primus Lite for street wear/concrete/asphalt instead of the Primus Trails. I along with lots of friends had the trails and we all found them dangerously slippery on any smooth concrete or other surface if it was even slightly wet. I literally could not get down my steep driveway without slipping like crazy while wearing them. Real shame as they're great on trails and hard packed dirt etc. Anyway just my experience.

How do these compare to the Primus lite 3 all weather?
@JamesFromCanada
@JamesFromCanada Жыл бұрын
Primus lite doesn't have the tread/traction. If you're going offroad at all get the trails. Also the Lites are more slippery on wet road. I recommend the trails IMO

Awesome dude, I was waiting for someone to do a water test. All sold out in Canada and US tho. Edit: Honestly, I got size 44 for my Primus Lite 2.0 as per recommended by the website and I think I can get away with 42-43.

Is a bit weird to me that the sole of the shoes looks pretty new to me, although they are dirty but still look very new never been worn to me?
@JamesFromCanada
@JamesFromCanada 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah even now 7 months, in the soles look really fresh! I haven't been doing rocky mountain scrambles which tore about the soles on my others. Also, these new treads feel a bit tougher than the old ones. With this pair most of my use has been on soft sandy/muddy/wet trails, on my bike, and on grass & artificial grass. Haven't been doing road running or rocky mountain stuff with them

For mtb flat pedals!? I can't imagine riding 2mm sole flexy shoes on my mtb flat pedals with pins of about 4mm long.
@JamesFromCanada
@JamesFromCanada 2 жыл бұрын
yup, literally just got back from a ride just now and did a 69km ride this weekend with the same shoes on Crankbrother Stamp pedals - never once had a slip even! Only thing that sucks is foot bashing a rock since there's not much on the front of these, but otherwise the tread pattern has gripped real well!

If you remove the soul and wear no socks 🧦, do you have a method to deodorize ? Just wash em in the tub ?
@JamesFromCanada
@JamesFromCanada Жыл бұрын
I super advise against barefoot in them - the stink is tough to remove. Wash in tub with strong castille soap. Let sun dry for many days to kill that bacteria. Consider a 3 to 9% hydrogen peroxide solution to spray inside after a few days if that doesn't work
