I'm buying an Array 4, as soon as my late flower tent needs it. I'm approximately 14 weeks away from the need. Late flower light, because of its close proximity to the canopy without the heat from your detachable dimmer/controller, which I'll place outside of the tent. Thank you sir!

Yeah, fancy but a no-go. Built-in fans, folding wings - probably runs really hot. Fans only circulate the hot air in the tent space does not bring in cooler outside air.The wing things - who knows really what they do. Adjust them once and well, that's it. Done with Quantum boards in favour of the open light format without the driver attached. Too much heat. Just got Shane's Migro Aray 2x2. Won't even consider going back to a hot board.That's so old tech. Love the Aray, Shane. Just getting a new grow going. Runs so much cooler. Thank you.

Do you think that the fans pushing the air down will help to keep the heat on the canopy. Which can be a bit of an issue in veg, when you want the heat in colder climates, but the light is not pushing enough out at that stage. Thats the only advantage I can see for some.

@@johnkehoe8368 I've been growing for decades mate. Stop trying to re write the rule book on well known issues. it's pathetic. QB help to trap in the heat hence the hot spot issues mentioned by another poster with more experience than you. I know people that only use them in winter and bars in summer for that very reason. And I don't need the Janet and John school on air flow ether. In veg airflow isn't much required. As most would want to trap in as much Co2 in the tent as possible and cut down on extraction to keep the temps up, while the light isn't powered up enough to produce the temps they want. Just a bit of air movement is all thats needed, between a bit of ventilation when humidity gets to high.

I'd love to see this light compared to 4 Viparspectra P-1000's. Like the original green 100W boards. Same amount of Watts, but each light covering a 2x2 area results in more even coverage. Especially in the corners! I've seen them quite inexpensive lately ($50) and probably upgraded from the ones I bought pre Covid that are still running well and cool. Especially with different genetics. Taller than expected, or shorter than expected, you can move a single fixture, lower one, and raise one. Giving them much more usefulness compared to one single fixture. Airflow is extremely important, but I have several cip ons from over the years. I usually use a 19" floor fan in a 4x4 tent, upwards to bigger tents. They're not wide enough to take up much space. I'll even unscrew the plastic backing and put a 20"x 20" cheap HVAC filter in place of the backing. Giving better airflow throughout the tent, while filtering dust and coconut coir dust, etc. Good airflow through the bottom of the tent has given much better success. They last a year or two and are usually under $25. Used by others, as well. Lasko seems to be the main brand available. Thanks again for the great review, Shane. * * * I don't know if you've seen the 730W JDbauns (or similar name) bar light for around $300. I grabbed one when our 800W driver died during a grow. I actually placed the bars differently than recommended, where there's the same size holes for no reason..?! I got a better spread in a 5x5, this way. The warranty probably isn't worth the paper it's written on, lol. Many Samsung diodes and very cool running. I've never seen it tested by anyone, and it's often advertised throughout Amazon. Probably more than any other light. They'd probably send you one to test..?! It's definitely not top tier, like Migro fixtures, but nothing from any other testers about this popular light..?!🤔👌💯🎯✌️
@Just___me_Ай бұрын
I have always preferred multiple small lights instead of one large light. Multiple lights have many advantages. Just a few being, 1) you can space them out or place them wherever they are needed. 2) you can get more even coverage 3) if one goes bad you can still use the other lights 4) if all lights are not needed perhaps because of using them in a smaller space you Don't have to use all of them.

I have the a200se, and if i can do it over again i would not purchase it. I hate that the light has be join the grow hub if i want to move it around. I also think quantum boards in general are going to be considered dated technology very soon.
@UbiquitousRompАй бұрын
Some like them for winter growing as quantum boards help to keep the heat better, between the light and the canopy. Which i would presume is even better with the down facing fan, pulling the heat that rises back down. I personally prefure bars that go the whole width of the tent. Stops the sides coming in when I'm hitting the extraction hard in flower
@deleqtronica8733Ай бұрын
@UbiquitousRomp I'm the same, after using the bar lights I can't go back to quantum boards. I use quantum boards like how I would use bars now, I like my fixtures to basically physically cover the whole top and dial in my ppfd with the dimmer.
