@@janoslaszlovasik9161 nah. The story, characters, voice performances, and themes were all there at launch. The bugs hurt the superficial aspects, but not the heart of what makes Cyberpunk special, what makes it resonate with people. What made Edgerunners so good was exactly what made 2077 good, even at launch.

@@Daniel-zg5mb Yeah the story part was nice, clearly a lot of work went into it. All other aspects of the game were wonky at best tho. Npcs sucked, combat felt repetitive, and dumb, crafting was pointless, side missions were literally the same every time. Should I go on?

@@janoslaszlovasik9161 I mean, I don't really agree at all. I'm not really sure what you mean by "npcs sucked". Do you mean crowd npcs? If so then I guess I agree, but I consider crowd npcs to be so low a priority that I'm not sure why anyone would care tbh. But that's just me. Combat being repetitive feels like a your build issue to me. It's not really the game's fault if you specced yourself into boredom. And I don't even know where to start with combat being dumb. I didn't do much crafting at launch, but that's just because there was so much loot that I never felt the need to. Is that what you mean by pointless? Even now, I generally just use it to upgrade my iconics. And side missions being the same? Do you mean like yellow exclamation point side missions or do you mean NCPD scanner hustles and gigs? Because I deeply disagree if you mean the former. And I only agree that gigs are samey at surface level. A fair number of them have a surprising amount of depth if you actually pay attention and read the shards/emails. As for the scanner hustles. I don't consider those missions. They are just small combat encounters with drops of world building that I engage in when I wanna try new gear or strats. But even if I did agree with what you said, none of that defends your original comment. NPCs, crafting, combat, and side missions all have nothing to do with Edgerunners or how it succeeded where 2077 at launch failed. So I'm honestly confused as to why you brought those up at all.

@@Daniel-zg5mb I mean npcs sucked cose when I stood somewhere a bit weird they didn't see me, so it was free real estate. Very simple NPC programming, not rly the lvl I expected from an AAA title. Combat being repetitive is also a symptom of this. Not cose of the build. I played like 6 different build, all were the same, cose the enemies reacted the same way, always. Yes, that's what I mean by boring crafting. If they left it out I wouldn't ve even noticed. Yes I mean gigs. "Go to X, there's a gang of *choose a crime*, kill their leader". Wow, much open world, very engaging. I meant that having these stupid low quality solutions broke immersion so many times, I didn't feel anything close to what the anime made me feel. Many times I've felt that stuff were added to the game just so it's there. Just so it follows the formula used by every other game in the market. Kinda ironic that a game about corporate greed got fucked by corporate greed. On the other side, when I just went with the main story, shit was fire. Bit short I think, but very nice indeed. Only thing about the story, that choice was a bit of an illusion. You could change small stuff, but in the end it all came down to one dialog with Johnny. That's pretty weak too. I didn't feel like what I've done had impact.

It’s funny the story starts centered around v’s need for survival at any cost. V thinks they have nothing to lose so they take unbelievable risks and kill countless enemies for the faintest chance for a cure, why not right? They had lost their best friend and everything else that mattered to them, but later as v progresses they meet people and become friends or lovers with some of them, and get back some things worth living for not just worth dying for. So then things change v can survive if they sacrifice everything that makes life worth living and ether become a legend or just another face in the crowd. Or give up there dream and hopes for survival and spend there days with the ones they love. What matters more to them in the end their legend, life, or loved ones?
@AmaranthOff
@AmaranthOff 5 ай бұрын
It's fascinating to see how the story begins with V's primal instinct for survival, a drive ultimately fuelled by desperation and loss. The journey is marked by crazy risks and a willingness to do whatever is necessary at the slimmest chance for a cure. The devs captured the spirit of a character who believes they have nothing to lose. But as V progresses and evolves, a shift occurs. Connections they didn’t mean to form are formed, friendships and love emerge, and V revives aspects of their life that don’t directly relate to one's survival. Eventually, the question starts to be asked: What truly matters to V in the end? Is it the pursuit of being a living legend through sacrificing everything, or is it the simple joys of living a life in the company of loved ones? V developing these connections allows them to confront the most significant choice they’ll ever make: to become a legend at the cost of their happiness or to embrace a quieter, more fulfilling existence with those they love.

Female V really brings the gravity of situations and emotions, you go from trying to become a legend, to sheer survival, existence. The growth between Johnny and V hits hardest with her because the emotion in her voice. I'm torn whether I want my canon to be. Really wanted the option to just burn the city and walk away. Which maybe the aldecano ending is, they helped you, and you escape the city to roam the wilds with the one you love. Close enough I guess. The story hits hard as one who is dealing with their own depression, but also losing those close recently. This is one of two games who hit hard emotionally, for that reason.

How it is to fight for another day but also seeing pulling the plug as the only hope for something better…In my headcanon I like to imagine that both the endings I chose for them allowed them to live and be free. Not under NUSA’s thumb or with a time ticking bomb in their heads. Because life is worth living when you do things on your own terms. This video was awesome choom. Honestly, I hope V doesn't come back, their story was perfectly cyberpunk, with no good ending where everyone gets to be happy, and no easy solution, they struggled, killed, lied, and fought against a city that would have them killed In a heartbeat, their story was about a human fighting a world that never shows mercy, so in the end I think V and there story is done, maybe a few bits of lore in the next game but I can honestly say that V and there legend is exactly the perfect cyberpunk ending

Man I remember getting this game on disc when it first released. I played it day and night, collecting and finding all i could and i had so much fun, even when it bugged out. To see it where it is now with the community it has, the fans it has, all the love and hard work this game was re-crafted filled with, im in awe. I'm proud, im ecstatic and most of all so thankful it basically got a second-heart implant. So many more people now know Night City, they know V. V is a legend. Night City couldn't keep a story this good a secret. I love knowing people all around the globe share the same feeling of nostalgia and hope with this game :^> ♡

Beautifully put together, choom. I started playing Cyberpunk for the first time just a couple months ago and I can't put it down. I've already burned about 500 hours into it. The city is incredible and the stories are much deeper than some give it credit for. The combat is also very addicting. Feels almost like Doom Eternal for me now. Takes practice but you can pull off some very impressive looking chains in rapid succession. Combo hacks with rain of bullets after a toss of a laser nade, while sliding and zipping across the air, popping fuel tanks to kill nearby enemies. So so sweet. The music, the fashion, it's all super good. Launch was unfortunately pre-mature. They needed more time to finish it. But thanks to the resilience of CDPR and not giving up, the game is truly the masterpiece it was meant to be today, even if still not 100%. I very much recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in this type of futuristic setting. Once you've completed the entire game, you can spend countless of hours wandering through this ginormous city, finding hidden secrets (well over 100) and get into fights with local gangsters. The detail is staggering. Great job Amaranth.

This has to be the best Cyberpunk 2077 edits on the platform. Not only does it use the most up to date version of the game so you can see the use of the hang outs and V's relationship but it also captures everything that V went through throughout the game. Starting with dreams of making it big and becoming a legend, losing Jackie and beginning to fight purely for survival and then meeting people like Panam, Judy, Kerry, River, Johnny etc and instead of continuing to fight for survival for the sake of survival they begin to fight for the new life and friendships theyve built throughout the game. Its reminds me of a quote from Dr Strange: "Death is what gives life meaning, to know your days and numbered and that time is short". V getting the news that they only have a few weeks left and choosing to do whatever it takes to make it makes for a great story but thats made even better by the agency the game gives you in chossing how this story ends. You can eaither sellout and give up with The Devil ending. Choose to go out in a blaze of glory in the Sun ending, allow Johnny to make amends in Temperance or spend your final days with people you care about in the Star ending and this tribute captures that perfectly. Most tributes only focus on one outcome to the game and follow that one story but this weves in all of the beginnings and all of the endings while never definitively showing that one is correct or the offical cannon which presents it as more of a case study on the character of V than anything else. Every fan of Cyberpunk 2077 needs to see this tribute. Really great work.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! Too many hours were put into this thing, so reading comments like yours has made it all worth it. I’m so glad the relationship update dropped when I made this thing. It really helped hone the vibe I was going for. It’s actually incredibly cool that you’ve found a connection to Dr Strange's quote; it's super impressive. Every player has their own story in Cyberpunk, so it was super important to me to highlight all those potential endings for people. After thinking about the various endings, I do have to say that the tower ending is personally my favourite ending despite how depressing it is. I’m super impressed you were able to determine that this is more of a case study on V rather than a definitive portrayal, which helps leave room for more interpretation, which, in this case, is fantastic. Thank you so much again for your support and incredible comment. It genuinely means so much!

Fantastic tribute Amaranth. Two days back, I completed my first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 (coincidentally on its 3 year anniversary). Not since GTA 4 have I loved an open-world game this much, not since the first 3 Metal Gear Solid titles have I connected with a game story, and not since Fullmetal Alchemist have I connected with a fictional story and themes this much. There might be better stories, but imo, Cyberpunk is my favourite story of all time. The themes of the value of one's soul, whether to make it big in your youth, or wither away old, to never stop fighting, whether you can help people and make a difference in a indifferent city, if you will be remembered when you're gone, finding newfound people who love you, everything here resonates strongly with me. The world of Cyberpunk has given me some of the greatest characters I've ever been invested and engrossed in, learning and helping their journeys and arcs, whether it's helping Kerry be independent, helping Panam and her conflict with the Aldecaldos and her helping V, watching Takemura's and Reed's inner conflicts about their loyalty against Arasaka's and the NUSA's rules, being scared of whatever outside force is slowly doing to Jefferson, mourning Jackie and making sure he had the best funeral, every character and journey is just done so well. To me tho, the highlight arcs were with V and Johnny, and V and Judy. To me, V and Judy are perhaps one of, if not my favourite couple I've experienced in fiction, how two loners, losing the closest people in their lives and hurt by a city that just does not care slowly loving each other was some of the most compelling stuff I've ever watched. As for V and Johnny's relationship, it meant so much to me as I had lost my Dad to cancer in the middle of the pandemic, so I couldn't even get a chance to say goodbye. He loved the table top game back in the 90s and was excited for this, wish he could've seen how it became now, it would've been everything he envisioned. Seeing V's turmoil of losing her memories, being afraid of being forgotten, her anguish when she's told by Vik she's only got a few weeks, Johnny realising that his grave is nothing and him thinking no one cared. I connect with these moments so deeply, because I try to remember my Dad, but it just feels like I can't. But it was playing Cyberpunk that finally made me grieve, finally let go. Because to me, Cyberpunk was never about going out in a Blaze of glory on your own, the quiet moments were what the game were truly about. Spending time with the people you love before it's too late. V and Johnny coming to peace with each other at the oil fields, V finding a new surrogate family with Vik, Mama Welles, Panam and the Aldecaldos, listening to Kerry's song on his boat, V and So-Mi quietly walking around So-Mi's apartment, V and Judy going underwater diving and learning about Judy's childhood before spending the night together, those moments were what made Cyberpunk 2077 so special to me. I am so grateful for this game. Thank you Mike Pondsmith and CDPROJEKTRED for creating my favourite story of all time. Thank you, Cyberpunk 2077. Never Stop Fighting and Never Fade Away.

I'm incredibly sorry to hear about the loss of your father. It's incredible how video games can become more than just entertainment, becoming an intermediate through which we can explore and process everything. How you view the game's quieter, more intimate moments is oddly beautiful. It's proof of the depth and richness of the storytelling within this game. It's clear that the themes of connection, loss, and the passage of time hit a spot with you, and I can see why. I literally just finished Phantom Liberty yesterday, now you've made me want to create an entirely different save file just to do it all over again. You monster! Your videos are easily the most beautiful, heart-wrenching content around Cyberpunk 2077 that's I've seen. Thank you for making this, it really touched me and I don't want to imagine how much godawful time it took to make.

I would have helped songbird if she told the truth from the get go. I empathize with her, for some reason i would rather live as a lab rat with the slight hope of eventual rescue because the abyss scares me more than anything. The loss of conciousness. The end.

Completely understandable fear. So many of the characters in the Phantom Liberty expansion are incredibly complex, so your choice is a completely valid one.

What a beautiful tribute to a masterpiece of a game and to a character we will never forget. This game caught me off guard in the best way possible. I'm a huge fps fan, so I was mostly interested in the combat mechanics of the game. I knew people said it had great characters and stories, but people say this about every game so I was like 'yeah, whatever, I just want to have fun'. At first, it all went down as I had expected. I did like the characters but they weren't really special either. But then the aftermath of the heist came and the scene when V learns from Vic that she's going to die soon just broke me. The voice acting was hauntingly real, one of the most emotional and heartbreaking moments I've ever seen in a video game. It pulled me into the story instantly only for the ending(s) to crush what was left of my composure. V being a predefined character, but our choices determining the outcome made it just so much more impactful and personal. Really makes you reflect about life and the importance of legacy and fulfillment over pure survival.

I couldn’t agree more. In my first playthrough, the emotional depth and twists in the narrative took me by surprise, too. That moment with V and Vic was heart-wrenching, and the voice acting (especially with male V) added a different level of realism to the game. It's a testament to the game's ability to incite profound reflections on life, legacy, and the consequences of V's choices. This game is such a masterpiece. Thank you so much for watching, choom!

Ive watched this more then a few times now. It always makes me go and play the game. It is deff my favorite rpg of this generation and maybe all time. Female V to me is the best and delivers more emotion to everything I feel like. I wish there was going to be more to Vs story but sometimes leaving the audience wanting more is the best way to leave things, let their imagination decide what happens in the end.

@@AmaranthOff you should also be proud, it is really good. I really liked this one for the original cyberpunk 2077 kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6W2nnSnrM6ogbs and yours is as good, but including the new DLC.
