Well- very interesting! That rock formation is a mini version of the Giant's Causeway back in Ireland (where I come from). Fascinating effect that basalt lava has when it cools a certain way and crystalises into columns. There's another version of it at Fingal Head near the NSW/QLD border. Oh and yes it's a cactus, but introduced "prickly pear". It was so bad up around the border country here that people were given land on condition that they cleared the prickly pear off it! Great look-around - that would indeed be a good stop-over on a longer journey :)

It is a nice spot mate, I stop there a lot but haven't camped as its too close for me but I certainly would if coming from further away. Cheers Steve

Another interesting video Steve. I've been past there a zillion times and never stopped lol. The old prickly pear is a noxious weed. I always try and kick them out of the ground whenever I see them. If I have boots on this is.

Thanks Azza, I stop there all the time. Now I know they’re a weed I’ll do the same. Cheers Steve

I remember thinking on my first few trips east that the east coast did some amazing roadside stops. It took a lot of years for WA to catch up but we do now have some great stops.

Yeah John there's some good ones around, I only plan to film the rest read that are really quite good, so "Normal" ones won't make the cut. Cheers Steve

It's a "prickly pear" mate. They produce a small purple fruit. A noxious weed I believe. A bug was introduced, very successfully, to eradicate it. Thanks for another nice look around.

That is a great secluded place not far from the main road. Often stop there to let the dogs have a drink and something to eat when travelling that way.
