One of the top tips I have is not to hook this unit to any amplified Magnetic Loop Antenna such as my $400 Pixel Pro 1B, $250 Wellbrook Magnetic Loop Antenna or even my $65 Malihit Magnetic Loop antenna. Where one accidental transmission on any frequency could make me crazy and cry…😂! Great tips and video ! 73!

These si4732 receivers all seem to have a mountain of internal noise, which makes them almost unusable. Are there any settings in which the noise is much lower? 😮

There is a satellite setting that boosts gain. Haven't tested if there's any difference when boosting that but throttling the normal gain setting back.

For SSB and CW tuning, the UV-K5 is a Rubik's Cube. Encoder for tuning is necessary at least as on the Kenwood TH-F6.

Hi, Peter. What firmware update model/version is that? More firmware packs than you can count on one hand these days. Would be good to mention it in the video with a text on screen. Link you have given is not happy with McAfee virus checker.

IJV firmware v3.13. Probably the best one at the moment. Offers amazing tweakability and many, many functions.

McAfee 😂 all this high company's scanner are a joke for anything, they destroy PC and slow them down and are unreajable.

Good tips, thanks Peter. Does this software still allow Tx on the original VHF and UHF frequencies please?
