Ah you got the NXT Gladiator as well! Good choice, I’ve really liked my Gladiator standard joystick and base but I definitely agree that the directions were pretty bad on the actual instructions page. The video was the only thing that helped me to actually install my joystick.

Very cool! Man this is bringing back more memories of playing LHX attack helicopter with my dad when I was younger. We had a keyboard and simple 2 button joystick, but I played that game for hours on end. In other news, yesterday I sunk a AC Pinguin and a Auxiliary Cruiser with 4 torpedoes from 450m range in broad daylight, and escaped their destroyer escort 😎 They were travelling almost directly for me in a line, with a lead destroyer; so I only had to position myself and wait for them to cross my path. then just as the Aux Cruiser was passing 0 degrees I fired 2 eels 90deg AOB, and immediately followed up with 2 more as the AC Pinguin was at 330 degrees. Something was off, because I hit forward on the aux and aft on the AC. I put their speed at 16 knots but later checked the results and the Aux had a max speed of 15 knots… regardless, at that range the hits were within moments of each other, with no time to react. 30,000 tonnes of warships sunk in 1000m off the west coast of Scotland. The Auxiliary cruiser with a great explosion, and the AC Pinguin succumbed to flooding trim to the aft. The escort had no clue where to look for me and dropped patterns well aft as I slunk away at 50rpm 140m below. A very lucky engagement for me! The crew of U-45 are riding high as we continue our journey into our designated patrol area🎉

i got these sticks just this year, i opted for the omnithrottle instead of the stecs (stecs wasn't released back when i purchased. i like them. excited about the prospect of some flight sim content. IL2, maybe DCS... Star Citizen (although i doubt that one will feature on this channel haha)

This stick is perfect for star citizen 😊

I remember how year ago I tried to play Rise of Flight, I played nearly 10 hours, but playing with mouse was awful as I couldn't turn my head and effectively dogfight other fighter planes. But because I didn't even have enough time to play games back then, I didn't buy a joystick. It was interesting for me to see someone's first experience with proper flight controllers... And I'm not gonna lie last part of this video inspired me to buy joystick and give RoF and flight sims as a whole second chance.

I think with this joystick alone you already have everything you need to play a WW1 flightsim. It has enough buttons and axis to control everything. Headtracking should be considered though. You can use any webcam in combination with opentrack and the included neuralnet tracker. That´s what I´m doing and it is working well enough

@@Tonci87 in rise of flight it is possible to rotate head, aim handgun and flare using mouse while controlling aircraft with joystick, but the problem was without joystick you couldn't rotate head, so I dogfights I had to use 3rd person to survive.

Mate if you pick up IL2 I will be happy to fly co-op with you!

Good video and I think that the criticism on the quick installation guide is justified. Every company should just copy Ikea's assembly guides and HW listing. I don't think switching buttons around is downgrade, but a customization.

Looks nice! Looking forward to seeing you doing more flight sims.

All the guys in my arma 3 group who fly have joystick and pedal setup because your able to do maneuvers that you can't do with keyboard and mouse.
@Tonci878 ай бұрын
I mean sure I always understood that to be the case, but I was genuinely surprised just how much better your control of the helicopter with proper gear is.
@inmitch6 ай бұрын
As I understand the buttons are from the standard version of the stick in case you ever wanted to switch it to a standard version.

I just got to where you figured that out 😊

You could check out Il-2 1946 with BAT mod, has lots of user made campaigns.
@Tonci878 ай бұрын
Interesting suggestion. How well are the flight and damage models holding up?
@Bonkikavo8 ай бұрын
@@Tonci87 I'm no expert but i would say it is very in depth. You can get damage to anything: oil, fuel, gun, flaps, rudder, pilot, gunner, landing gear and probably other things, and it's also visually cool. For realism you can do manual prop pitch, fuel mixture and practically micromanage the engine. Also with BAT mod you can fly practically every plane from WW2, and every plane before that, AND a bunch of planes after, up untill 80's i think. The game is as good as they come IMO. Probaj pa vidi :) Edit: check out these guy's older videos, they have great cinematics youtube.com/@grupoaereo9?si=Q6FJSFMhDrVlcEN7
