I don't even know where to begin on how much I love the RG556. Such a budget friendly beast! It's the perfect size, with a perfect control layout and amazing AMOLED screen. I'm not fluid in customizing so I picked up the black variant pre loaded with over 4400 games. Then I picked up a 480 PS2 game SD card from AliExpress which never leaves the device. Add all the GooglePlay downloads and my RG556 is completely stacked with so many awesome games. The PS2 emulation is fantastic. Playing my all time PS2 favorites like Contra; Shattered Soldier and MOH; Frontline again on the RG556 is a dream come true!

Thanks for sharing the best shaders for this screen (5.5" 1080p amoled)! I was searching on google and reddit on the best shaders that would look nice on this screen, but popular shaders that worked on the common 640x480 screens or 720p/4k shaders that worked for LCD screens don't look nice on this 5.5" 1080p amoled. Really apt video title about "what nobody told you about it"!

Genshin Impact can't sustain high 60fps on newer areas (Sumeru & Fontaine). Best is medium 45fps with heavy effects, with this setting also helps to play even longer and perfect on the small screen.

Recently had mine delivered and the left speaker is dead. Seems to be quite a few reports of this over on Reddit. I’ve created a ticket with Anbernic but they haven’t replied yet. I’m thinking if I’ve got to open it up to replace the speaker, I may as well get the thumbsticks changed as well 🤷‍♂️

It could be a bad connection to the pads that makes contact with the motherboard Open it up clean the pads and bend the legs a bit to make better contact

Hey guys, I just got my rg556 and I seem to be having an issue with the triggers. For whatever reason the console thinks that when the triggers aren’t being pressed that they are being pressed. For games like Zelda you need to press the trigger to target lock enemies but right now with how the console is operating I need to hold down the trigger just so that link isn’t constantly target locking everything. Any fix ?

There may be a setting in dolphin you can change for f-zero. Dolphin defaults to disabling dual core for some games like f-zero, metroid 2, and possibly others. Turn dual core on for f-zero and it will likely run better.

The ppsspp all is far better than the Retroarch core, I use Retroarch, for PS1 and below then the individual emulators for any console above, but also prefer Dolphin for GameCube over Retroarch. Hope this helps 😁

Its a hardware limitation from it It can only do one display output or charge fortunately the battery lasts quite a lot and you can lower the screen brightness to the max

Vicious screen door effect, and the stutter on Switch emulation was really bad. Baseline if it cant run Genshin and at least screen record I can’t use it. Looks cool and seems thick enough to actually be comfortable though. So that’s a plus. Gotta give it to them, the video out options are pretty good. And better than an iPhone. Would prefer a decent tablet or gaming laptop over this though. Gulikit should make an adapter for the Hall Effect joy con sticks for this. Or another third party could do it. IJS

No point in emulating switch imo. I have a couple games on mine and they work fine but I honestly don’t know why you wouldn’t just buy a switch. Genshin works great on it and the video out is great as well. The streaming works well. I’ve used it with my PlayStation. I recommend installing ES-DE or Dijisho. The stock is is typical Anbernic. With ES-DE I set it as my home app using some other apps but it was pretty easy and worth it imo. I am replacing the sticks soon. Playing my favorite game, SSX3, the precision is not there. It’s playable and still fun but it makes for some difficult turns.

It can screen record. Plays Genshin great. Way cheaper than any decent tablet or gaming laptop. And the joysticks are identical form factor to Switch, so you can Buy the Guilikit for Switch and swap them out. That's what I did it's definitely an improvement.

The SoC is powerful enough to play at least 98% of GameCube games at native resolution and 90% if not 95% of PS2 games at native resolution at full speed. Plus you have power efficiency. How is this a crappy SoC!?
