Exactly. She's a rookie; she's not even from the city. Giving an important assignment to someone with no experience and doesn't know the city layout is an impossible expectation. She's lucky they didn't stick her with the mail room and taking coffee orders.
@Cthulwho69
@Cthulwho69 Жыл бұрын
That is inaccurate. Though Cops can write parking violation tickets, meter maids or parking enforcement officers are an entirely different thing. They are not Police Officers.. no one is going to pay a cops sallary to do that. That's like saying Mall Security are police officers. My father was a cop for 32 years, my brother for 21 so far and my brother in law became one last November. His first day he rode shotgun with a partner on full duty patrol. By his third month he was riding solo. They don't give them meter maid jobs or mail room coffee order jobs. They partner them with someone experienced and get them directly in the field. It's the only way to learn. figgerit'out

@@Cthulwho69 Depends. Different places have different organizations. Around here parking enforcement officers used to be independent from the police until a legal process concluded they didn't have the authority needed to give fines invalidating five years of parking tickets. Now those tasks are done by police officers.

The scene where Judy and Nick apologize has some beautiful improv. Judy's voice actress tried to deliver her lines while staying stoic but started to actually tear up during it. Because she didn't stop for a new try Nick's voice actor stepped in and they improvised their whole dialogue about Judy hugging Nick because she wanted the pen back. Animators went back and reanimated the whole scene because of the voice actors' all star performance.

As an avid animation fan, the animation doesn’t start till the voice acting is completed. This is so the animators can work in the ticks for the voice actors. Only low budget animations will the animation will be done first and the voice actors must fit the timing.

This movie is just so damn good. By the way, the Weasel's name, Duke Weaselton, is a callback to Frozen. He's voiced by Alan Tudyk who voiced The Duke of Weselton in the first Frozen. The Duke's homeland was jokingly called Weaselton there while Duke's name here is mispronounced as Weselton.

Honest to God, I forgot how well-written this movie is--it demonstrates excellently that prejudice often goes both ways, and is also a cleverly written cop movie. Nick and Judy, low-key, are goals. I didn't actually remember how much of an impact Judy had back in Bunnyburrow on her parents, but when I saw this video, I remembered and it hit my like a tub of bricks. I was obsessed with this movie throughout much of my later teens, and I can safely say it has given me a lot to work with in terms of inspiration and style. 10/10, for all eternity. Fun fact: Judy Hopps is voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin who, around the time of the film's release, was best known as playing Snow White in the ABC show Once Upon a Time. Her husband, Josh Dallas (who was her Prince Charming in Once Upon a Time) got a cameo in the film as the pig that got robbed by the weasel. Speaking of the weasel, the weasel (Duke Weaselton) was voiced by Alan Tudyk who, a few Disney movies prior to this, was the Duke of Wesselton in Frozen (which is why Judy calls Duke "Wesselton" when they're at his movie stand). Alan himself has actually been in every Disney Animated film since 2012 where he was King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph, Duke Wesselton in Frozen, Alistar Krei in Big Hero 6, Duke Weaselton in Zootopia, Hei Hei the chicken in Moana, Knowsmore in Wreck-It Ralph 2, a few side characters in Frozen 2, Tuk Tuk in Raya and the Last Dragon, Antonio's Toucan in Encanto, the Narrator and Duffle in Strange World, and he's gonna be the goat in Wish.

Concerning rabbits and carrots: I am never going to forget this one moment. My best friend (and landlord at the time) kept rabbits (part of my rent was helping take care of them). So there I was, sitting with these two rabbits right next to me in their outdoor enclosure. They're snoozing peacefully. Then they bring some carrot pieces out, hand them to me, and as I bring them near, the two rabbit heads rise, eyes still closed, noses quivering. Then the eyes opened and they enjoyed the carrots. It was so cute and adorable! :)

I love Zootopia and Judy and Nick's dynamic! As soon as you said the scene reminded you of Breaking Bad I couldn't wait for you to hear the Jesse and Woolter joke! Fun (or maybe not so fun) fact, originally Zootopia was meant to have a much darker tone, with the world being one where all predators are forced to wear basically shock collars to keep them "docile" and Nick was meant to run an underground theme park/casino of sorts where predators could pay for a chance to have fun without their collars on for a while. If I remember right, the story was changed so far along into production even the voice actors didn't initially realize how much the movie had changed from what they had originally signed on for.

Honestly, they could build an entire theme park at Disney World based on Zootopia and I would sell everything I owned to be there on day 1 and spend the entire time in there lol This is my absolute favorite newer Disney movie to date. Nothing in recent years can even begin to compare to this movie imo. It's just so amazing and comes from such an instantly recognizable place that everyone is exposed to at one point or another that it really feels personal. That has absolutely nothing to say about how AMAZINGLY WELL this movie is animated. I can't even begin to think about how much computer storage they had to use just to handle one scene's animal fur physics. None of the characters look like stock characters designed for just a single scene. Every single animal you see looks extremely original and unique. Then too you have to figure how they handled different animal species' different fur requirements and renders so they look authentic and not just like "oh, this animal has hair too so it's going to look just as furry as every other animal that has hair." Wolves have thicker coats and hair physics than the other animals, the polar bears have a thick coarse hair that is over a very fleshy fat pad for insulation, etc and EVERY animal has these qualities animated into their hair movements and their animations in general. You actually get the impression that these animals actually have these qualities to them. That level of detail for an animated movie is just bonkers and they did it beautifully. I really think this is my favorite Pixar film, ever

"You know you love me." "Do I know that? ...Yes, yes I do!" Fun Fact: Animated theatrical debut of Idris Elba. Breaking Zoo Fact: Assistant villains Woolter and Jesse, both voiced by John DiMaggio, are modeled after the two of the main characters in the American television drug drama Breaking Bad (2008). They have a similar hideout as well. Off A Cliff Fact: Lemmings are erroneously known for committing mass suicides by jumping of cliffs or drowning -- a myth started by the Disney nature documentary 'White Wilderness (1958). In this film, lemmings in tiny suits are seen exiting a building with the Lemming Brothers" sign. This is a wordplay on Lehman Brothers, a company infamous for filing the largest bankruptcy claim in US history. Casting Notes Fact: The actor who plays Peter Moosebridge is a real news anchor, named Peter Mansbridge, for the CBC in Canada. Duke Weaselton is voiced by Alan Tudyk, who also voiced the Duke of Weselton (often mispronounced Weaseltown) in Frozen (2013). In contrast to the character of the latter, Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) mispronounces Duke's last name as "Weselton" in this movie. Location Location Fact: The city of Bunnyburrow is 211 miles (339 km) away from Zootropolis. It could have been any number but it so happens that Rennes, a really old city in northwestern France with a lot of places of interests and the capital of the region of Brittany, is 211 miles or 339 km away from Paris (to be precise: from Disney's Hotel Cheyenne). It is one of a few trips visitors might take if they are visiting Disneyland in Paris (another trip might be travelling to Lille, far north from Paris).

Yes, V, that is how briefing works in most police departments. I've even been to quite a few briefings myself. When shift change happens, the Watch Commander for that shift meets with the officers in each patrol group and fills them in on what's been going on since they were last there. He then assigns them priories, open calls for service and any changes which have been made to their patrol routine. And if there are special events or open cases that need to be addressed, he may assign specific officers to them. It's usually sergeants or detectives who are assigned to cases like missing persons. They have extra training and access to more resources.

Fun fact: we only see 3 districts of the total TWELVE seen on Bogo’s map of Zootopia in that short clip at 7:24 (pause it). . Fun fact 2: at 31:19, the news presenters are different for each region the film was released in. I think in Canada/the US, it's a moose called Peter Moosebridge.

And glad you're a fellow Bunny parent. ^.^ my Bunny loves bananas and carrots. But bananas by far the most. (And he likes his blueberries) Love the videos. I watch any time I see you post new

Great family movie with a lot of self awareness and social commentary. John Lasseter was executive producer on the production team. No wonder it is such a well made movie. He was still under Disney employ during the making of this. The quality speaks for itself. Disney really started tanking once they drummed out real talent like Lasseter with their unprofessional method of spreading vicious, ugly rumors.

25:54 @VKunia you judged Nick right away as being shifty, sly, and a suspect Fox. There are so many people in real life that judge minorities just because of the way they look or even dressed without evening knowing them. I like how this kid's movie addresses that very important message.

I'm amazed Disney hasn't thought of this first but Zootopia was such a white hot popular movie that we should have but didn't get a prequel series center around the future Officer Judy Hops but in her Elementary and Middle School years. I think it would served us good to see what she went through on her to the Academy.

Couldn’t believe it was J K Simmons either. I recently heard him in the animated superhero series Invincible. That was some hardcore drama. Can’t wait for Season 2! That sloth scene was quite a slam on the DMV! I finally saw The Godfather in 2014 or 2015 and that Mr Big scene had me laughing hard😂

The wolves can't help howling if they hear someone howl, that's in their DNA. There are plenty of videos on KZbin of people either imitate howling or play this very scene (or even show Wolf Link howling sequences from Zelda: Twilight Princess) near their dogs, they start to howl as it's their instict to howl (dogs are after all close cousins to wolves, their ancestors were wolves tamed by humans).

Animated movies / TV isn't just for kids. In fact, sometimes it allows unique techniques and stylistic choices that wouldn't be possible in live action (like the unique transitions and camera work in the Tintin movie from 2011, or the stylized animation of the Spider-Verse movies that is reminiscent of a comic book).

One little fun detail with the Duke Weaselton and Alan Tudyk who are the voice for that character. Alan also voices the Duke of Weselton in Frozen and he in both of these movies correct people on how to pronouce his name. It is a really fantastic movie, well written, well animated, great voice actors all around. A really good way showing younger viewers about the effect that racism (speciesism in case of the movie) has and not to judge a book by their cover. Also I really loved that Breaking Baahd reference! ;)

The trick I've found is that DMVs are required to serve all customers that come in the door before closing time. So if you come in right before closing, they will serve you very quickly because they want to go home.

I ALWAYS go to the DMV in my fiancee's small hometown. It's an office meant to service a town of only a few thousand people, if that. A single woman runs it most days and she is amazing at her job. She's also neighbors with my fiancee's mother. 😂😂😂

This movie was originally going to have a darker setting. In the original script it had all predatory animals wearing collars. They couldn't go out in public without wearing one and if a predator got too excited, a faster heart rate or adrenaline, the collar would shock them. Different amounts of voltage depending on the level of excitement.

Seeing that scene with them running through the mice town again made me realise how horrifying that must have been for the mice, even though judy and the weasel were on the smaller size, it was stil basically like a kaiju battle, that was basically godzilla vs King Kong for them. Imagine if it was one of the bigger animals like the rhino or and elephant 😢
