Goodness… Thanks kindly for the time and effort you took to help elaborate this question for a complete stranger!! :-) I ask because I have the GRK3 installed to an electric guitar. However, I am selling it as well as the GR20 synthesizer and may even consider acquiring a Godin SA string guitar. It produces wonderful acoustic amplified sounds and also incorporates the feel, as far as ease and control, of an electric. You get the best of both worlds and feedback is virtually eliminated as it lacks the "traditional" soundhole. Cheers, Eric :-)

USB A port can also be used import backingtrack or Record a Max of 120min of your gig. Also the Mini USB port kan be used to handle MIDI commands from say, an iPad (I use OnSong). In this way song change on the iPad selects the right song, backingtrack and Effects sequence.

To add to the below (Re; Midi). There are many more General Purpose and Sound controller CC's available. Whether TC (over time) add to the list is likely dependent on the user community out there and their requirements and wants / asks. TC do listen to the community for additions (we only have to look over Mic control as well as the switch-3 asks which has added additional functionality to various hardware units TC have produced) and 'possibly' the list will expand over time :) .

The manual shows that monitors must be patched thru a mixing board ( where the inputs and outputs vary according to brand and model. ) I suppose I want to know if I can bypass monitors and mixing board, and just have vocals and guitar come out of the amp ? Please let me know if possible ...

Hi PJ. You don't need to have the mon in at all . Most people will likely not use it. Mons can be used through the desk for custom mixes to the mon for the band (some use stage monitors, some use IEM) . Singers might like the drum beat, buit guitar, no bass, little keyboard .. where as the bass player might want drums, guitar but no singer.... So in that setup - the mon mix to individual band members is done through the board. If you don't use a stage monitor, of course you can do without one . for your setup - Microphone on the Mic in, Guitar in the guitar in and then XLR's and / or guitar to your (active) amp

Did I miss a tutorial on mostly vocal harmony? Most of the stuff is technically miles over my head but I wanted a gadget that would just add a nice clean male voice singing a 3rd above & sometimes a female hitting an octave & that isn't happening half the time in a nice stable manner. Obviously the fault lies w/me & I need to learn more. Thanks SO much by the way!

Hi there im using my own pedal board before the VL3X.. I want to control harmonies with my guitar using my own guitar rig, I don't want to use the guitar presets on the VL, and im coming out and going straight into a PA, so Vocals on one channel and Guitar an another,, how do I connect this

I'm not sure, but it sounds like the unit can sense for example a signal from a cd,mp3 or similar provided the volume is not too loud and calculate the chords and build harmony or pitch correction based on that information in real time. Kareoke on steroids. Many possibilities. :-)

I loop acoustic guitar, sing, and use a keyboard. Could anyone tell me if I can loop all of those things using this machine? And if so, which inputs/outputs should I use? Thanks in advance

I m trying to use rc 300(master) and voicelive 3 slave , the 300 give the midi clock to voicelive and at the beginning it start to work good after some loop it lost the time do you have any suggestion?

I cant get any guitar effects! I insert the cable in either the R or L output, rrt to switch on/off the GRND button, still no sound at all. The effects name and number change but no sound comes off the guirar amp :@ Only the 'THRU' clean sound to work. PLEAAAASE Help. I can't get an answer elsewhere, and i feel stupid and ignorant.

Hi, Having a look over the GRK3's manual, I believe it's (the Rig Control pedalboard) a midi device - now its main function is to control the software (guitar rig 5 pro) via midi (so the 17 amps, 27 cabs) NOTE: (The GRK3 "actually" uses it's own protocol to talk to the software). Manual page 62 states "The Virtual Rig Kontrol is a perfectly integrated component of GUITAR RIG 5, sporting pre-assigned functions for many presets and a convenient display for all its assignments, especially in Live view. If your external MIDI controller features a comparable set of controls, it can make sense to map it to the Virtual Rig Kontrol and then use the latter for assigning functions instead." The GRK3 would depend on whether it can perform as an autonomous controlled device. With units such as the Novations, Behringers (etc) of the world, they can be programmed for each button / rotary dial to perform a CC option and value (an example would be CC 50 (Umod style 1) CC 90 20 (level of umod) . Now As I understand out, the GRK3's output in midi mode is Switch 1 - CC 80, Switch 2 - CC 81, Switch 3 - CC 82, Switch 4 - CC 83, Switch 5 - CC 76, Switch 6 - CC 77, Switch 7 - CC 78, Switch 8 - CC 79 (So Sound controllers or General Purpose button). The pedal is CC 4 (standard MSB Foot pedal CC) - (details from the control editor in default RK3 settings). Which unfortunately does not fit with the VL3's midi CC list. I'm aware the GRK3 has a learn mode, so as the VL3 sends out its midi CC's then surprisingly with the RGK3 in midi learn mode you "could" (and it'll be more theoretical than actual) learn some of the VL3's CC's (as detailed in the manual). But from various forums, etc there seems to be an issue with the GRK3 and its ability to remember the learned CC's when a Preset Change is made. I run my laptop into the VL3x via usb cable and select the voicelive as the output on the laptop, then route that backing track through my guitar outputs

What about the Headphone output? It worked for me

@@jameskelly4621 thanks man. I used it for awhile but still if I remember correctly the headphone output is a mix of everything and I don’t think you can isolate just the backing track. I will go back and check again.
