The situation also reminds me of Lucian's death in the first "Underworld" movie, where he tells Kraven, "You may have killed me, but my will is done, regardless." Of course, there's heavy Christian symbolism in that moment, which we're seeing in real-life with people like Alexei Nevalny. (4/9/2024)

I was so inspired to see how many young girls/women paid tribute to Navalny despite risks of being apprehended by the KGB. I got the sense these women are determined to see more freedom and democracy in Russia and the Kremlin is paying attention! At one point I got chills, which for me is validation, that a more moderate government will rise. They’ve lost too much, too many loved ones at the hands of their dictator and will rise up like never before. I’d like to think Alexei is giving them the courage to fulfill his mission. 🙏🏻☺️

Yes I feel this too. Putin is not Russia. Women and men who hold love in their hearts do not support the war in Ukraine, the senseless deaths of their families, the devastation of their neighbour’s lands and cities, the strain on their economy, the unjust burden on ethnic minorities, the ignominy of the Russian name internationally. We are witnessing the last battles of patriarchal, authoritarian leadership in RF and in the US and in other countries. Was over in Germany in The late eighties as well and had an experience I will carry for the rest of my life…..days after the Berlin Wall came down my team was traveling via train to our deployed location and a newly minted German (x-East German just 3 days) approached us in tears and dragged us to the bar car and bought all of us beers, his words were the following in broken English “ I want my first act as a free citizen to thank those for my freedom” as a young service member hearing this statement of being free finally was an eye opener for a young American and I have carried this memory thru life and have always reminded people that freedom has a price…never give it away. Wau! Thank you for your time, Maryann. As you are curious about 1985 I remembered that it was the year Vladimir Putin arrived in Dresden, East Germany, as mid-level KGB officer. He was there in 1989 when the Berlin Wall fell and the terror he has from demonstrations come from the fact that he almost got killed by the mob that invaded de KGB quarters during the revolutionary events through East Germany following the fall of the Wall. It was during his stay in Dresden that he met Angela Merkel who lived in Dresden since her childhood (born in Hamburg) and was a research scientist at the Dresden University from 1986 to 1989. You can confirm all these data in the Internet.

On top of that - he was a normal man, so the vision of brushing past him on the street is concordant. The secret agent stories about Putin at that time are now doubted. He there served to one of the two major world powers, then the Berlin Wall, then in 1991 the end of „Russia“ as he knew it - des-integrating within no time. Maryanne, I watch a gentleman named Konstantin on his channel Inside Russia (YT), he is an economist by trade and one of the first to leave Russia when they started forcing men to fight. He has explained how and why Russia was able to hang on as long as they did and why, now, things are gonna go down the toilet pretty quickly for Putin money wise. All lines up with what you see in the cards. I hope both he and you are correct. Thank you for the reading, Maryann! Yes, we know what Vladimir Putin is about. I once heard that he was too much even for the KGB, that´s why he was the 4th important agent in Dresden. He might try to organize something at the Suwalki gap or he might to go and "help" the Transnistrians, they have already asked for help from Russia. And so has the Gaugauzia area, also in Moldova. The problem is that Ukraine is situated between Russia and Moldova. As to Finland, it never was part of the USSR. We went to war in order to avoid that "friendship". In February 1944 the Soviets were bombing Helsinki. The air defense functioned quite well and the Soviet airmen weren´t very professional, only 5% of the city was destroyed. Had it been bombed either by the Americans or the British, there wouldn´t have been anything left. Lately Russia has been harassing us with refugees from third countries. That´s why the border has been closed for months. We share 1343,6 km of border. But we are armed to the teeth, and it didn´t go that well for them last time. There has always been airspace violation over the Gulf of Finland, even in the "good old" days. We always keep track of them and complain, so nothing goes unnoticed. However, I am much relieved after your reading and I wish you a nice weekend and say hi to Rocky for me. He didn´t bother us at all.
