The thing I draw from you, as an artist, is that you work over the entire painting first getting the darks and the lights, and then work in the mid-tones. As an artist I know this is the way to approach a painting, but the problem is executing it correctly. Your brush control is fabulous, with each stroke being made to uplift the painting. I love longer videos, in order to understand your thought process, such as why the dark blue for the shadows on her arms, because the blue of her dress is reflecting onto her skin. At least that's the way I interpret it. Your ability to paint very small complicated things with precision like the cats face, and her fingers with a larger brush is unbelievable to me. As you may know most artists are fairly poor, until they "make" it, so most aren't able to purchase lessons. So I will continue to soak in these small moments of watching, and maybe some day will be able to take your lessions. Thank you for sharing your mastery.

Hey, I think at least in computer graphics it's called color bleeding :-) Very very interesting how it works. Also subsurface scattering describes how light looks when it enteres the human skin. All kinds of red-orange colors appear. To think of light as just a one-dimensional light source (sun) is almost silly. No, it bounces back and forth - materials absorb in different ways and reflect. It's wonderful and Mr Volegov is really really good at it. But I think it's a lifetime of practice :-)
