I'm pleased to see how much interest there is in Art displays like this. The bi-stability of E Ink and only having to charge it once every 6 months + is a huge reason why I think it will be successful, as well as the rendering quality. Like any new tech the high price is certainly a barrier to entry. However, there is a cheaper 13.3" Spectra 6 version from another company that I'll be posting soon. I'll link it below when I finish that.

I just hope these can become somewhat affordable some time. This is such a fantastic use of E-Ink technology.

Yea not having to charge the battery for 6 months to a year is really awesome. I think the price will drop over time like all new tech does eventually. There is another company I'm working on a vid that has a more affordable 13 inch version.

I love the concept. Once the price drives down, I can see it replacing digital photo frames and if you could schedule changes, that would be awesome.

Color gamut is too low to render photos well. With that and the price, I’d guess it’ll be another decade.

@@VladimirKostek, thanks for jumping in. I could see it being extremely valuable for art collections that rely on reprints. You could ideally switch over the collection with a click of a button, assuming it really is gallery quality.

That's for the upload your the only person to view & upload about the InkPoster. I've been emailing Eink & for years for a colour Eink poster, it's finally here. Love that finally we have spectra 6 in a consumer product, you can't tell it's not a real print unless you get quite close. Just wish those white frame bezels weren't so LARGE.

Im glad you liked it, there is another spectra panel I'll mention in a vid soon! Yea thats what I was referencing about the inserts, I feel like it would be cool if you could customize it for your liking with the inserts. E ink is hard to get a hold of for sure, they were here for CES and there wasn't even anyone I could really interview unfortunately!

This is great! I've been waiting for eInk to move into the art space, and these frames are really encouraging. The ability to be away from an outlet is super important, and the fact that you can change images with an app is solid. I know the pricing is a bit up there for the larger screens, but if it looks great, it will be inexpensive relative to other art pieces.

Are the white "bezels" really necessary or are they by "design"?

@@VladimirKostek Thanks for the reply. I was thinking that they really needed the extra space around the actual screen... If It is just an artistic choice then I really hope for options with at least a thinner bezel somehow. But these are really amazing ways for an colour eink display to "shine".

How was the rendering of the photo that he sent to the frame? Have a meural now, which is quite good for digital photos, but I can definitely see the benefits of this technology.
@VladimirKostekКүн бұрын
The quality and crispness is quite good. It is hard to see the individual pixels unless you get very close, the PPI seems solid. From a normal viewing distance the experience is fantastic, with the caveat that there is good ambient lighting. How do you like the Meural? I remember looking into those a few years back.
@weinerdful21 сағат бұрын
@@VladimirKostek Generally pretty happy with the meural. The image quality for digital pictures is pretty good, although the app is kind of buggy. Meural is also on sale often and can be pretty reasonably priced especially compared to what InkPoster will list at. Will be great to see InkPoster in person at some point.

Meural seems to be the closest comparison. I kind of like this better although this is like 3x the price. The usb stuff needs to be on the back, not the bottom. Maybe both.
@davecgriffith26 минут бұрын
Curious about long term usability. What if the product flops and is discontinued? The next OS update could render the app unusable. Are there other options for owners to interact with the frames? (e.g., loading photos over USB) It'd be amazing if the frames could run a webserver to allow changing the image from any computer on the network. I'd sure be more comfortable shelling out that kind of money if I knew I could count on it continuing to work for years, regardless of the decisions of the company.

Although I suspect we have to wait a few years for the 120hz versions 🙂, these ≈0,005hz models look great. Can likely google it for myself, but interesting info for the “image-pro” are such things as color gamut size, black point and white point. The saturated images displayed are those who give the best result with, what I suppose is, RGBK partitive color mixing. Cyan seas, magenta sunsets, and possibly also bright yellows may be harder to push. Not to forget is that it isn’t only about the technology, but about the processing that can map the gamut of “real world colors” (or your own jpgs) into this “pointillist color space”.
@VladimirKostek12 сағат бұрын
It uses a red, yellow, blue and white color mixing
@BeardLAD37 минут бұрын
@@VladimirKostekyeah, the white comes from the mix of the three colours, hence the choice; and, contrast is handled same as OLED concept… …frame rate is irrelevant for static images, but resolution matters, especially with the larger formats that can be an option for medium format TIFF files: definitely want it to handle very large TIFF images.
