I was never sure if God had someone for me! Soulmates are something I don’t believe in either (as in one person created for you). God has put a few options before me and gave us the choice to pursue each other. Yet, He has also given me details about my marriage to come. I think there's God's perfect will, the person He wants you to marry and He knows best of course and there's His permissive will. All other men I have encountered were not in the Lord. Even being in church as a single person, never met a man that you described, as far as same convictions. At your age you will not be able to marry for some years, right? You would have to be very, very sure God wants you to wait for each other because being committed to one person but having to abstain for years would be very tough. My advice would be, unless your parents/mentors think you should commit and you feel strong leading from the Holy Spirit that you should put ideas of being together aside. Be brother-and-sister-in-Christ and leave yourselves open to whatever future God may have for you. He may have a different person in mind for you. Now is the time for you to grow in maturity and learn to follow God's leading. There is plenty of time for serving God within a team when the time for marrying comes.

God has a good, pleasing and perfect will for everybody (Rom 12:2). He has a plan for everybody's life right from before they were born (Jer 1:5, Psa 139:16, Jer 29:11). But God is not a dictator, He gave us free will to make decisions on our own (Deut 30:19-20, Josh 24:15, John 7:17). And this is why Jesus taught us to pray "Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matt 6:10). Even Jesus himself had to choose God's will over his own in Gethsmane (Luk 22:42). So if all our days are ordained in his book, does that not include our birthday, graduation day, death day and wedding day? And if your wedding day is planned in his book for you, doesn't it include your bride/groom??? If God has planned how many children you are going to have, hasn't He also planned WHO you will have them with??? It is just a matter of choosing whether to follow God's will/plan for our lives or not. If you have two job offers on table, one of them (or both) is definitely not in God's will for you. But it is upto you to make the choice if you truly seek His will and plan for your life. The scripture Pastor quoted said "She can marry whomever she will" and this is true. She can marry anybody she wants, or she can marry the person God wants her to marry. I know some people will ask what happens when somebody's spouse dies or if you marry "the wrong person"? Is it the end for them? Of course not. God is not a man. He is not restricted by human logic like we are, nor should we make the mistake of reducing God to human ways of operation. God's thoughts and ways of operation are way above ours (Is 55:8-9). His plan could be that your husband will die after 5 years, and then you will marry another man for the next 30 years. We saw this with Ruth and Boaz. Two things are for sure: God honors marriage and He will honor and respect whoever you choose to marry, regardless of whether it was His plan or not, just as you should honor your decision to be with them till death. The second thing is GOD'S WILL IS ALWAYS BEST FOR YOU, BUT IT MAY NOT ALWAYS BE SWEET FOR YOU! Ask Jesus, He was distressed to the point of death pursuing God's will (Mtt 26:38). Just because you married God's choice for you doesn't mean you will never have challenges in your marriage!

The only thing is we are at liberty to marry whoever is in the Lord, but you also have to remember that Paul's view of marriage was different than ours today. He didn't see women as people who could do ministry. His own interpretation of cultural Jewish law caused him to see things this way. Women were expected to stay silent in churches according to his interpretation. BUT... if you view now that women can go into ministry. This changes things. In that sense its almost like you are choosing someone to be on your team kind of like how Jesus chose the disciples. Jesus chose the disciples by divine revelation from the Lord. So now that we are functioning in this way, I do believe there is an advantage to pursuing the Lord for guidance on your spouse. I mean we are not all going to have crazy dreams, or prophetic confirmations. But to not have conversations with God about the most important decision of your life is kind of dishonoring to the Lord, and can also end up compromising the kingdom's advancement. Some people can give off all the right green flags, but the Lord is the only one who truly knows the heart, and we should be speaking to the Lord about this. I don't believe that we need a prophetic sign just to ask someone out, sometimes it's something we figure out along the way. And also we should not use manipulation when we think the Lord is telling us something, but I do believe we should be talking to the Lord about a potential mate when we are in the courtship process. And not just choose them just because they are "in the Lord"

I study genesis 24. When it was time for Isaac to marry. An angel had to be involved to get Rebecca and an angel brought her to Isaac It also said Isaac was APPOINTED for Rebecca. I don’t agree with this teaching God made Eve particularly for Adam. God is shaping the woman for a particular person. This is the reason why Jesus said it is gud for men to live alone but ( IF ) you can't control your temptation only then marry. Notice what happened in the Garden of Eden. It was God's choice for Adam to have a wife. Notice this eve, the wife of Adam was God's choice yet she betrayed Adam and had sex with Lucifer (satan) lots of theories have proved this that was not just simply eating the fruit of sin, it was a metaphor. The fact here is those who say god will marry you to a good wife according to his will, Eve was God's choice yet it failed. So now my point here is women are purely materialistic. after God's choice for Adam failed thus Jesus had to say it is gud for men to live alone but if you can't control your temptation then marry.

When I got the holy spirit and was baptized I asked my pastor if I could marry the women who introduced me to God. It was a miserable marriage. After my divorce I asked God why he never told me she was struggling with lesbianism. 14 years of faith and I'm left empty and struggling with self love and my faith in God has been destroyed. I was preaching the word to many people yet I had no idea what was going on on my own home.

I believe one has to find the will of God, for their life, be it marriage, job and life decision. Also God reveals His plan for us if we are willing to ask him and hear Him out. Morever how do we know if we are comparable??? Some partners we think we are comparable, but they end up not being. Only God knows whose best for us.
