@AquaticHaus7 жыл бұрын
Even if the waters are crystal clear I still keep weekly or every 2 weeks a water change .. its just to provide some fresh new clean water for the tank. By doing so also helps to reduce some unwanted levels of excess nitrates, extra alkalines etc .. Filters are definitely to be on 24hours 365 a year , nvr turn them off :)

Amazing work with the landscaping and with the recovery after the algae! How to be as good as you. I have just started with this aquascaping, but it appears that one of the plants that I bought contained a lot of snails, now the tank has alot of these very small snails. What should I do with it?

love your tank. after DSM, do you use co2 system or just do water change and add fertilizer ? How long do you keep the light on everyday? How do you keep the green algae away from the rock? Do you add any water condition or just RO water?
@vladimirstojanovic36037 жыл бұрын
Thank's! I am using CO2,lights are ON 8h per day. I'm adding in RO water seachem equilibrium to raise GH, seachem alkaline to raise KH and seachem acide buffer to set pH on 6.5 About algae I am not doing anything special, I have 3 bristlenose plecos and they spend lot of time licking rocks. I suppose they do most of the work. Also algae don't like acidic water.

Hey bud! nice set up! and great determination... when using RO, do you add buffers EVERY water change? I wonder if just the buffers could have helped without having to go through RO.
@vladimirstojanovic36034 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Yes, I add buffers at every water change. I have to use RO because my tap water is very hard and bad. I have a barrel where I make RO water, I add buffers there and then I do water change. I do not add buffers directly to the aquarium.

@vladimirstojanovic36037 жыл бұрын
Yes,I had some green spotted algae on glass and just on one plant (red plant,can be seen in the video). But that's nothing compared to what I had. When used RO water it is not guaranteed that algae will not be at all,but the chances are less to appear.This is my experience so far.

It's never easy, had the same problems once, solved with canister filter and RO. Never give up and you'll win! Congratulations! Vladimir, I've noticed an inflow pipe with skimmer. Could you please tell the manufacturer? And do you happy with it's performance? Does it effective and more important, does it reliable for long period of time? (there is little information one the internet...would be very appreciate for your answer)
@vladimirstojanovic36037 жыл бұрын
Thank you! So we did exactly the same thing and solved the problem? That's great :) About skimmer... It's OK but it is a little tricky to adjust....I had to spend some time trying to figure out how to adjust and how it works.I do not use it permanently, just as needed.Because when I use it, I need to boost my co2 a bit (Is this happening to anyone else and is it normal? I do not know). For now I am satisfied with skimmer.For the manufacturer I'm not sure, I ordered a skimmer on line (aliexpress). The first one came broken(it was the first time that something arrived broken),the other did not even arrive at all, third came OK. But the seller really turned out fair and I paid only one skimmer. I hope this helped.
@teluriteteluritov24157 жыл бұрын
That was very informative! Thank's a lot) In nature aquarium it is common to provide lots of CO2, even when a drop checker shows green, it does not mean that you have enough CO2 for plants. So, don't spare CO2 (within reasonable limits. Of course much depends on the lighting power and plants). Also my problems with algae were solved by using aeration at night. So, your skimmer helps a little with this task. Boosting CO2 is normal. But everything comes with experience. Aquariums are complex systems, takes time and patience.
@vladimirstojanovic36037 жыл бұрын
Thank's. I am also using aeration at night,I raised lily pipe. I also use skimmer at night mostly.

Vladimir, how much fertilizer did you put? you put every day or every week ?
@vladimirstojanovic36037 жыл бұрын
HI. great question, cause I forgot to mention it in the video. I use Tropica Specialised Fertiliser (green one). I am dosing twice a week,after water change I dosage one recommended weekly dose(for my tank) ,and after 3 days I dosage another recommended weekly dose. So I dosage twice the recommended dose which the manufacturer recommends. It all depends on how many plants you have in the aquarium.

How hard is re mineralisation the water
@vladimirstojanovic36037 жыл бұрын
It's not hard at all,just follow the instructions that are written on the preparation. Then, after re mineralization, water should be tested to determine if these are the parameters that we want to achieve.The necessary tests are GH,KH and pH. In the beginning, it was all a bit confusing to me also as pressurized co2.But now it has already become my routine.
