Part 2: • Gilbert Arenas on Why ...
--------
At the start of his first-ever interview with VladTV, Gilbert Arenas began telling his life story, including moving to California with his Dad, who dropped out of college to be an aspiring actor. Gilbert then revealed that his father saved him from foster care after his mother abandoned him, and he added that they were homeless when they first moved to the L.A.-area. From there, Gilbert spoke about living with his grandmother in Florida until his father got established in California, and going on to play basketball starting at age 12. To hear more, including Gilbert speaking about not being a great basketball player when he started out, hit the above clip.

Life hits different when the lady who births you abandons you. I’m 31 and mine abandoned me at the age of 15. It definently impacts you without truly knowing indepth. It affects you by not showing a sensitive side, not knowing what it’s like to be loved by a woman properly, not truly respecting a woman like you should respect a mom and so on.

@@horatioh2020 I don’t care about likes bro. I can relate to this man and that’s all that matters. With no mom in your life, you don’t know how it feels to be loved properly by a woman. With my dad being a veteran like me, all we know is getting the skins, but that’s all. To me, it’s get old, but then again, that’s all most women can offer this day and age unfortunately. With my dad being a black veteran, I commend him(despite his flaws and not raising me to be a man) because most Army black men back then leave the women they knocked up overseas and never be found again, but he brought me here to AmeriKKKa and caught me when the lady who birthed me let me go.

I first met Gil when he was either Jr. High or 9th Grade. I would pick him and David on my team so they could stay on the court all day. I would explain to him what I was doing. I talked to him about what it would take to make it. He had a lot of anger but much heart. Gil was no punk. As a street legend I wanted him to know the street game but also the concept of structure. I was there when he dunked the first time. He went to Grant and killed it. I trained thousands of kids in the Valley and T.O. buy only a few played with me on the court. Gil did. I met Gilbert’s father ~ he happened to be staying in the room across from my casino hotel room~ he was totally cool as I told him what a huge fan I was of his son’s. We exchange info and he came to our concert that evening. I think very highly of Gilbert’s honesty as well as his BB IQ

My husband’s mom abandoned him & his siblings too. Left them with his abusive step-father. He went through a lot too. I know this and I’m extra patient with him, because of this. I here Gil talk and it’s like hearing my husband. I hope Gil gets counseling, because I know behind closed doors his abandonment issues eat at him. Over all he seems humble and down to earth. And that is his character so kudos to him.

Watching this again. It had to be very uncomfortable of gil thinking about the most horrific moments in his life. I'll say gil keep it together by not breaking down he played it very well. I know I would've broke down bringing up things that I know hurt me. Wow he is a very strong dude.

Met my mother twice but basically abandoned me at 2, showed up to fake give me a lil change later in my life but I never accepted. Granted I don’t let it affect my perspective on women but it definitely made me realize at a young age how women can be ruthless and careless, so move like anybody will leave you, if someone who is suppose to give unconditional love will.

Sometimes the VLAD TV page can be tricking supporting what he perpetuates but he do have some good interviews from time to time. Gotta appreciate the seemingly calm and level headed attitude Arenas has about his up bringing and being homeless and with no mom in the picture for most of his life tho
