The prosecutor told him that if he took the stand he would have no legal charges brought for his testimony. And when he was sentenced to jail they used the exact information he was given immunity for was used to send him to prison. Time heals everything for better or worse. Look at it like this, in 5000 years from now, if people are still around, you know what they will think about the N word? Nothing. More than likely wont ever know it as a word. Instead it will be a different word or people will be hated by the color of their eyes or the size of their feet because humans are great at hate.
