So, it is a gross exaggeration to say he is a GOAT at doing it. I would go as far as to say most average rappers who normally focus on speaking about topics such as life experiences and social issues are better at storytelling than Eminem. Eminem typically prefers to impress and shock with clever wordplay, punchlines, speed (in more recent times), and random references to things like graphic violence, torture, and even rape. He prefers the aforementioned styles as opposed to trying to do things typical of a storyteller, such as giving life lessons, taking the Iistener on a journey, or even remaining on one subject, which are things usually associated with storytelling. I like the way Em described himself as 'just a rhyme-sayer' in one of his songs because that is pretty accurate when you listen to many of his tracks. That's not to say Em is not a dynamic rapper, but it is a borderline misrepresentation of Em to refer to him as one of the goats at storytelling-that's a bit like saying Tupac is one of the goats at horrorcore rap because he has some lyrics about violence.
