I saw it, it was TERRIBLE. Vivica's character was only in it for a few minutes before being killed off. Honestly they should've not had ID2, it seemed like a completely different movie with the name " Independence Day " slapped on it. Such a bad strategy now Netflix is picking up it's bad habits. Creating content based off Video games, anime, and other sources & creating projects without an endgoal but to have content. Then the content would be so good, but they cancel it because they're invested in newer projects. Sad.

Regardless. Her saying she was friends with him and supports him, an saying things happen. Is a simple enough awnser, pretty much not confirming or denying it. Which is good, that way people won’t go around twisting her words, saying she said it was true or she said it was false. She just wanted to give a simple awnser and awnser questions about her. Which was good on her part. People shouldn’t blame other people or look at them differently because of someone’s else’s choices.

Independence Day 2 should have come out in 1999, the hype was still there and you could have had the President in his second term, with Jeff Goldblum as head of a major alien technology research facility, and Will Smith as one of the legendary Pilots training others to fly the alien craft to withstand a second invasion by a sister-colony of the first alien group. Then in 2001 Independence Day 3 could have been humanity taking the fight to the aliens by invading their home planet. Man, I went to the cinema in 2016 to see ID2 purely based on my nostalgia for the first, and it was so painful to sit there. They even killed off Will's character out of spite, which is so petty, because now there is not even the slight possibility to do a future installment that stars Will. The potential for a trilogy died.

Vivica is wrong, its not that they did not want to pay Will Smith, its that Will Smith hadn't had a hit movie in awhile and this was in 2015. He could no longer command that $20 million per movie fee plus a backend percentage. They offered him a deal and unfortunately negotiations could not be settled. In retrospect, the studio should have just caved into Will's demands because the picture would have made more money with Will in it.. I wanna say this: Did Will Smith go on social media and bash the studio for not offering him what he thinks he's worth??? Did Will Smith call for a boycott and file a lawsuit?? No. They offered him a deal and he turned it down, plain and simple.
