Got to meet Teddy Atlas in Las Vegas at a fight for Espn’s Friday Night fights. I walked up to him introduced myself and thanked him for all he’s done for the sport of boxing. I put my hand out to shake his and he pulled me in for a hug. Teddy is really a good guy, sure he might have some demons in his closet just like the rest of us but Teddy is the real deal. I’ll always appreciate that time.

I felt like he did what was necessary. Tyson was 15 and the girl was 11. It wasn't like he could threaten Tyson physically. He never tried to get Tyson cancelled, he just said what he needed to in order to defend his own actions.

At least Mike not only apologize he did it in a semi public fashion, and nowadays, with all the reality TV, and how fake everyone is, it was not only a good moment for Mike and Teddy, but also the world to see as an example of something real ,honorable and how ppl should conduct themselves !
@jasonnelson662410 ай бұрын
Well that is one of Teddy's issues was because it was public. He has said before on top of questioning if Tyson did it only because of the recovery program. He felt with it being public Tyson could use that to improve his public image. I feel teddy wouldn't really trust or accept Tyson's apology regardless of how he did it.

Bless this man for helping to address supporting other children to help them navigate that sort of treatment. I cannot stand that "you think you're better than us" accusation unless the person truly has stated that this is what they think. Vlad, great interview. I look forward to the complete interview. Thank you for giving this man enough respect to speak and tell his story virtually uninterrupted. His boxing analysis and insight is rare in the sport these days and for years I admired him for saying what he thinks and what it is on the air while commentating for ESPN. I watched this man correct a judge on calling a fight a majority decision a split decision (if memory serves me correctly). He spoke to the judge about the rules and got him to admit the mistake on the air. He would speak up about skewed decisions, other commentators making off comments, among other things. I'm not so much into the drama, but I appreciated watching and listening to him support his claims and arguments. Atlas is a hall of famer indeed. Aside from Teddy Atlas, Max Kellerman is about the only other commentator (with whom I am familiar) who is not an-ex professional boxer whose commentary and analysis that I respect and look forward to listening to.
