Boxing is the best sport. One quick powerful punch. The fight is over before it begins. If the first or second punch don't end the fight tho, then you are in trouble lol
@AustereEchadh

@@kingiam9271that's if you get the chance to throw it properly, cleanly. If a grappler/wrestler, jujutsu type of person gets a hold of you, you are going to get rag dolled.

@@AustereEchadh yes if a boxer fights a wrestler, he needs to end the fight quickly. But we are not talking about MMA fight, we are talking street fight. And street fight usually starts face to face, and usually a punch is the first throw. Even in pro MMA fights, wrestlers don't always start wrestling, they throw hands first till they find the opportunity for takedown.
@_JAS0N_
@_JAS0N_ 4 ай бұрын
@@AustereEchadh I've been training in BJJ for about 2 years now. Getting into a fight with a boxer or a Kick boxer doesn't worry me 1 bit. I'm almost find it laughable to be honest. Cuz I already know I'm easily putting them to sleep or I'm snapping their limb. WRESTLERS on the other hand , I will try my best to avoid fighting them at all cost. I don't want that smoke at all . I grew up around wrestlers and I've seen what they are capable of.

Thats not to say im some macho man or tough guy..but knowing how to do something physically that somebody else doesn't, which UNFORTUNATELY the average person doesnt know how to actually fight and like MJW said block..I actually believe that that one year of wrestling saved his life. Hand placement alone, gives you a massive advantage sometimes. Take a defense class of some sort 💯

The best is boxing. Ive trained bjj, boxing, mma. I was a bouncer for a while too and boxing is the best by a mile. You must be quick, precise without fancy techniques like kicks. Also you can be in situations with limited space, multpiple guys ( so wrestling or kicking is not that good either). Simple 1-2 combo, slip, head movement is king.

Bas Rutten was in Pancrase the same time as Ken Shamrock and actually lost to him twice due to the fact that he hadn't learned grappling/submissions, but once he did he was the top fighter there for a couple years before heading to the UFC in '99 and winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Have you ever taken a Muay Thai class in the US? They DON'T teach you any defensive techniques. It's mostly a cardio based kickboxing class. If you are not serious about getting any shape, you are not going to be a good fighter. To me the ultimate striking style is kyokushin karate + boxing or uechi ryu karate + savate. Aside from boxing the other three kyokushin, uechi, and savate it's very difficult to find those classes in the US. Dutch kickboxing is really good self-defense, so is Savate, or any legit form of karate that's not a mcdojo, is much better at self-defense than Muay Thai.

I would agree with MJW, because most times in a street fight you either slam them unconscious into the pavement, or control them from the top, but most wrestlers have no clue what to do when they are on the bottom. If i had to pick one stype for a street fight scenario it would probably be boxing/ju jitzu like Diaz style.

I took combat Sambo for 7 years, and had full contact sparing against pure strikers, pure Jujitsu practitioners. In a sparing matches, pure strikers got manhandled by wrestlers and grapplers. About 50/50 when it came to jujitsu practitioners. When it came to an actual full contact match, wrestlers destroyed both strikers and jujitsu practitioners.

Note to people who will say that Wrestlers will beat Boxers ... It's the street fight aspect. Boxing is better suited for distance and erasing the threat with minimum contact nd proficiency. However, wrestling is definitely more of a threat in combat overall.
