Actually it has something to do with the devil, but you're right about the self control part. In this case tho, will didn't interpret the message from Denzel correctly; will didn’t realize his wrong, so he thought the devil was Chris, but Denzel was saying the devil tempted him and he went for the bait. I think will still don't think he did wrong, I think he hasn't taken accountability for his lack of self control in the situation.
