I’ve heard numerous stories about Shaq being so thoughtful and generous. I believe when he was with the Lakers they had a young man who was disabled that worked in the locker room. One day Shaq noticed he wasn’t around and asked what happened. The Lakers were trying to cut back on their overhead and the young man’s job was cut. Next day he was back and Shaq paid his salary. Quality dude!

Y'all should read Shaq' book, UNCUT, if you haven't already. One of the biggest takeaways, for me, was how unbelievably generous Shaq was/is. And what we read about in the book are just the things that have made it to the surface. I'm certain there are a myriad of things he's done (behind the scenes) that we will never know about. With that said, the things we do know about are nothing short of sensational.

@J w Like I said before keep handing out money you will be broke, it has happened plenty of times with athletes worth 100 of millions mike tyson is one. People stay wealthy by not just giving out money. They make it, and a return on their investment. Obviously you don't understand wealth creation. Because if you did you will understand 70k is still 70k. If you don't think its a lot try asking some one for it with no return and see what they tell you. Billionaires stay Billionaires by not just giving out money. It's who they give it to. Shaq is the biggest hearted player EVER... He is just a fun loyal kind person. I remember him buying custom shoes for a kid for with large feet & had trouble finding shoes that his mom could afford. Shaq bought the kid a few pairs for him & showed up to surprise the kid. He did it out of kindness 🥰👍🏼❤

I met John Salley at Magic Johnson’s mid Summer’s night magic one year-one of the nicest, most down to earth people I ever met. Had the best conversation with him.

I remember I was a struggling artist at venice Beach in California Flat broke. I was drawing a picture of Dirk the year they won the championship. As a black artist I was a bit discouraged, hungry and homeless....a white guy out of nowhere saw my pain and gave me $400 bucks for that small picture, also put me up for the night at the Marriott. I'll never forget that.

Salley's testimony of being the recipient of a great financial gesture from Shaq, and nobody ever knowing about until he mentioned it, shows the kind of class and character Shaq has! Keeping it real, based on a short documentary I saw on KZbin on Shaq, I think he would call it, "GOOD HOME-TRAINING !!" 🙂👏

I've always heard great stories about Shaq. He will go out his way to make someone's day to include kids even if it inconveniences him. Shaq gave me and my recording engineer a nice tip back in the day. I always say he's the coolest celebrity I've met out of a lot of people.

If there is one thing I've learned with letting people borrow money it is this: if you not ready to not get it back, don't loan it. It certainly has come back to me in ways I never could have imagined but this is something I personally came to understand dealing with friends and family.
