Chaka Khan does not come off as a celebrity in this interview. She is real and matter of fact and ain't tryna hide nothing, not even her personal opinions. She has weathered the storm and outlived a lot of other singers she came up with...she certainly has a testimony. Glad to hear them speak of the song, My Funny Valentine,.. Chaka version is by far the absolute best! The definitive version. She sang on that one!

Chaka even moved to Germany because she said people didn't approach her all the time like they did in the states. Prince thought he was going to sleep with Chaka but it didn't work. Prince was also born with a defect that enabled him to have children that weren't deformed. The first baby Prince had with Mayte was born deformed and Prince eventually divorced her. After it was confirmed that Mayte was able to have children I think Prince felt horrible. Prince later married Manuela whom he met in Canada. Manuela went on to marry Eric Benet Halle Berry's ex and they had children. Manuela wanted a man who could may babies.

I love Whitney Houston. However this notion that the music industry and Bobby Brown orchestrated her addiction is not true. Whitney was doing drugs before Bobby Brown and her first album hit the shelves. I am not saying being married to Bobby Brown and the demands of the industry didn't help. The simple fact is that Whitney made a choice to handle her problems by self medication. Whitney said out of her own mouth, no one makes her do nothing. With that being said, her untimely death is questionable and more profitable for Clive Davis.
@talented16024 жыл бұрын
I really believe everything you're saying. I believe Whitney battled her own demons long before Bobby came into the picture. Yes she was used alot because of her talent and she was nothing more than an ATM MACHINE FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY (INCLUDING HER FAMILY). Honestly we can never explain death and why it happens, but I'm glad that she is at peace. Whitney was a tormented soul that endured alot, experience alot and I just believe it was her time.

I’ve read every book written about her and only robyns makes sense and Bebe winans her mom told the truth but why wait so late to get her help when she was told from Robyn on the 80s about her drug use . Is it just me? I thought this short clip was honoring Whitney’s memory and then at 3:30 the comment regarding one of Whitney’s song had me🥴🤣

Chaka Khan knew how to handle the lifestyle. Whitney let Hollywood Snatcher. Chaka Khan still a dime piece

Let's be clear and not sugarcoat this because of either actual love for Whitney Houston or of fan idolization. Whitney died from her addiction, and people need to be real clear that this is a problem that many have and that requires support not enabling from friends and family.

Those are just the effects of doing drugs for so long. She’s too old to be on drugs still. She would be deadx

And to think her own brother started with this drug abuse with Whitney. Bobby was not half of her problems as media always painted. And lets stop with this crap about she was a victim. She been doing drugs for decades. No saint.

I'm a huge fan of Whitney Houston but you are 100% right she was no saint. Alot of ppl also felt like she married him to cover up or to stop the lesbian rumors

Bobby was part of the problem. He had addictions as well. Two addicts are a bad match.

@Tev the problem is that people like to blame bobby when he didn’t get her started on that stuff. Just 2 druggies becoming wise together r
