In this clip, Michael Thompson recounted being attacked by a hitman from the Mexican Mafia. During the attack, the hitman tried slashing his throat and ended up slicing his ear in half. Thompson said he was cut in the back of the throat almost a single millimeter away from a vital artery. It wasn’t soon after this attack that he was finally paroled due to his practicing of nonviolence after leaving the Aryan Brotherhood.

The execution of his crimes is what I think made it harm for him to be granted parole (one murder execution style and one via lethal overdose). He also was laughing and saying, “All lies.” during his trial, so I’m sure that left an impression with the governors who denied him parole (it was more than one).
