X was so huge and legendary that he was a main stage performer at Woodstock '99 to like a 200,000 person crowd of mostly white people there to listen to nu-metal and rock bands. No entourage, no gimmicks, he just took the stage by himself with his DJ and killed his set. I've never seen any rapper do something at that level alongside the fact he was as real a human being an artist as it gets. RIP to that man.

Saw X when he first hit it big during the hard knock life/ryde or die tour and then again at the cash money/ruff Ryders tour a year later. By far the best rapper I’ve ever seen live. His intensity and energy was unmatched. He had such total command of the audience that he had the lights turned off and led the fans in a prayer and not a single person said a word during it.
