Ah man, this interview is deep on so many levels. The guy next to him looked almost mocked for lack of a better word when Akon mentioned that "claim to be projects line." Basically, Akon's poverty premise flies directly in the face of that man next to him & his "hardcore, i'm from the hood, i've had it rough lifestyle." As a third world immigrant myself, very few Americans know what real poverty is. Young "African American" others have it worse; trust me. Pick yourselves up Black Kings & toss some of your excuses in the trash my brothers.✊🏽
@mmiller76158 жыл бұрын
Good point, but poverty is a mindstate. People in certain African nations and other Third World countries are poor in comparison to Americans. In some cases, they do not know that they are poor. The poverty that Blacks in America experience is caused, in part, by the system. Comparing Blacks in America to Blacks in other countries is not "apples to apples".
@smjce228 жыл бұрын
+marcus Miller Exactly, and the financially poor in Africa are not shunned the way the poor are in American by the avg person.

+Jay Riina At the end of the day Black is Black. However, some African immigrants come to America and try to distance themselves from Blacks. They fail to realize how deep the oppression is here but question why some Blacks are unable to succeed.

Marius S no it’s called encouragement, that’s what many white people don’t understand. By showing support you prevent the negative actions like black people making money from crimes just to waste it on jewellery, you encourage them to go the correct route and support others. Stop looking for a sob story, black people and other races are always put down but white people are seen as every race as creating things, that’s why it’s not highlighted and with the fact that the creation of things were by stealing from others which pushed them to poverty (like Africa). No ones hating on white people just supporting the black people who choose to do right

Do you think us black folkes go around just hating each other like animals? Huh? The African American light skin dude is brain washed by western white culture. Believing in a white jesus and taking on the mind of his oppressor doing as he would do. Dislikeing as he would dislike. Akon is the man! More of us black people in America should be like him! Did you say what you said because you thought that I would go age shit crazy and hate someone???? Or do you take the slightest action of any man and think that's its some kind of gay threat against you or whoever. I'm mean. Your kind of overreacting a little bit. I don't know you but I wouldn't think twice about the 4min and 25sec time mark at all. Lighten up man. Geese! And just after that. He talks about how extending the grid makes Africans richer. You hate that don't you? Well guess what? All of Africa is getting it together and working with China to make it happen. Africa will be the last continent on earth to be modernized with today's technology. It will have the most advanced cities on earth!
