Thanks for the video, I just put in some Sylvania replacements and they worked fine. Have you messed around with the puddle lights at all? My GT Line doesn't have them installed, just the door handles light up. I'm wondering if it's an easy upgrade that would work in synch with the door handle light, or if you have to have an upgrade lighting package. Also the K5 illuminated door sill plates would be a cool little upgrade, not sure if they are stock on the GT. I'll check out more of your videos

168's should work fine as well right? I know they're compatible but don't want to throw any codes. I picked up some Sylvania cool white LED's and am trying to get the covers off and they are a pain. They don't pop right off for me as easily as in the video for some reason and I don't want to break the covers. I've been replacing all my bulbs on my vehicles for decades, used to use xenon but now LED's and it's hard to find the bulb sizes for this vehicle, they aren't even listed in the manual. They want people to buy the $300 lighting upgrade from Kia I guess. Edit:ended up getting em out, just didn't like using a screwdriver up against the paint. They look great, now on to the interior lights.

GT lighting is already all LED inside other than the mirror vanity lights which I will be doing soon!

Anybody have any luck replacing the daytime running lights/turn signals? They run orange in the US but I saw a video of a Korean dealership and the stock model K5's have white lights on the exterior. I'm guessing you would need to have some way to switch it to amber when turning, but it would be cool to run them in a different color during the day.

There are people that have replaced the DRLs with RGB options with bright white being one of the color options.

Hi Ahmed, I paid slightly under MSRP (had the discount for loyalty), which was right around 34k with the GT1 package and several other things (mats, interior light kit, etc) - this is the 2.5 / dual clutch transmission

Can someone please tell me why people feel that changing a bulb will make a car throw a mechanical code??? 2 or 3 people have commented on this threat, asking if changing a bulb causes error codes...am I missing something??

From what I gather, there are some newer vehicles, even American made cars that will not recognize the bulbs and will show that you have nothing plugged in, or they short out. I've always replaced my lighting on all my vehicles going back decades with xenon and then LED without any issues, but I know that a lot of people are buying a lot of the aftermarket lighting and splicing it into the vehicles electrical system or bulb outlets and I think the car companies want to use that as an excuse to void warranties. You should be able to replace your damn lightbulbs with whatever you want to, but I know Kia was selling some expensive KDM LED interior lighting kit for K-5's as an add-on for the GT Line and I'd just swap them. Looks like it's not an issue with this vehicle.
