I've been watching Oshie for quite a while now, but it's my first time actually seeing you guys xD I love watching Oshie, because it always makes me reminisce about our Golden girl, her name was Lara. We sadly had to put her down due to cancer, she had a few surgeries but the tumors just kept coming back :( It's been over 10 years, but it can still make me cry to this day. And I have to say, Nancy is a beautiful woman! Oshie seemed a bit stressed in the beginning, though? Love from Germany

I get really sad thinking about Oshie getting old and sick. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to put your Golden down. It breaks my heart just thinking about it. Oshie is 3 years old Now. I still remember the first time I met him. The breeder called us and said that she still had 3 unclaimed puppies..So we drove 4 hours to pick our pup. We go there and she let the 3 boys run around with us. I picked all 3 up and carried them like babies. 2 of them tried to get out of my arms to continue playing, but the 3rd one didn't. He laid in my arms and looked up at me. We made eye contact. And that is how we chose Oshie. Or, he chose us. I cannot imagine not having him in our lives. I know that its a reality that I will have to face, but I hate to think about it now, so we just try to make him as happy as we can and spoil him often. I bet Lara was a beautiful girl. It is sad that Cancer has taken the lives of soo many beloved pets. I tell Oshie that he will never leave me and he just licks my face. Maybe you can get a Golden of your own!? We don't mind the long comments. We enjoy replying! =)

But as of right now I'm living alone in a very small apartment and I don't think I'd have the time to properly care for a dog. I teach at an University and it's not very well paid xD And as much as I'd wish to have a Golden baby with me, I think that just wouldn't be fair to keep it in such a small space and I don't wanna be selfish :( But one day, I hope to find a partner that loves dogs just as much as I do and allows me to fill an entire house with puppies

P. S. You probably would want to avoid the Temecula area, although it's very nice. The freeways in that area and into Pendleton are a mess! The 15 is a nightmare going in both directions and both the 76 and 78 aren't much fun either. Coastal living would probably be much better both time wise and mental health wise. And when there's any kind of diversion in the weather, like rain, San Diegans tend to freak out causing all kinds of chaos on the roads! Anyway, that's just my opinion. I've lived in San Diego most of my life so I've seen it all on the roads. I'd much rather deal with the traffic on the 5 than the 15! Jane

The traffic...grrr..the one thing I don't look forward to. haha. We'll look around the end of April early May for a house and because it is PCS season for us Military folks, houses get rented out quickly..So we'll have to find something quick. We are open for all options. Ideally, we'd like to live near the beach...Or get a house with a pool. Summers are pretty hot down there. It would be nice to jump in the pool with Oshie. 20 years 5 months 4 days, USAF. Not a tough Marine like you😉 reason I said Capt. was It always seemed a promotion meant a move to a new command and a new job. Hang in there on those deployments, I was fortunate enough that they started in the later part of my career. Looks like you have two great support systems there. For what it's worth my Marine friends still out shoot me no matter how much I practice.

Nancy De Avila ; we live in san pedro, ca...however we do visit san diego county a lot because its a great day trip for us. more times than we could count! yes definately we will make a video together that would be awsome! This weekend we could not walk more then 3 min at a time with bailey because hes so friendly...we spent more time meeting people everywhere we went then we did relaxing... every time we were in public almost everyone stopped and wanted to meet him! (after about 50 people the first day... no joke... it became a little tiresome) we decided to respect their privacy and not put the gopro harness on him. We were gonna do a funny face reaction video, but we were so busy enjoying our time and we figured it would be better to make a video of him enjoying san diego dog friendly places this time! The management @ the hotel we stayed at said he was so popular and friendly they didnt even bother to charge the pet fee for the night we were there ❤! working on the video (s) now they will be up soon!

I love San Pedro! My family lives in LA --South Central/Downtown LA. We use to go to San Pedro growing up and fished, snorkled and all that good stuff. Thank you both for your military service. I just came across your channel today and subscribed. Oshie is cute. I love Retrievers. I used to have a black Labrador. He got into socks and hair ties no matter how we put them up where he couldn't get them he found away. It ended up twisting his intestines and he got very sick. Be careful with Oshie if he gets into those things put them where he can't possibly get them and eat it.

I have a niece that her husband is a Marine and they were just stationed there a year n half or 2 years ago. I have several family members in different branches of the service. I am a retired Air Force military wife, 20 years he served but now divorced. I have much appreciation for our military service men and women. Yes I can understand your concern. it was heartbreaking situation I went through. Oshie is just precious.

Oshie is just beautiful he has that perfect "golden" face! I hope you will make up your mind soon about whether you plan to breed him or not in the near future and think about neutering. I know, who the hell am I to just jump in your vlog comments and tell you this but I tell my story to many. many owners who are doing great things for their dogs and taking wonderful care of them but just did not quite have all the information - like we did not. Goldens, as you know, are prone to cancers, which we knew, but what we did not know was that neutering has been so well documented to lower the chance of a great many that they are predisposed to. We were ambivalent about whether to breed him or not and of course the breeder we dealt with was interested in us doing just that and the primary care vet we saw only kept asking us if we wanted to neuter him on each yearly checkup and never really drawing any lines for us. That was great up until the day we got the diagnosis that our wonderful guy was dying of cancer. After 13 weeks of a 26 week course of chemotherapy he was in remission and stayed that way the rest of his life (he lived to 13) but he was also quickly neutered because our oncologist made it very clear that while he was genetically predisposition to it, testosterone was what fueled the cancer, and any hopes of getting him into remission countered on getting rid of the testosterone. He was very lucky and 'beat it' but we learned a lot. We learned that had we neutered him at 6 months (or even younger) we could have really reduced the changes of him ever developing many of the types of cancers that plaque Goldens and most likely would never had developed the one he did. We also learned through a lot of reading up on canine cancers once we were dealing with it that many of the cancers that tend to strike in the middle to senior years of a dogs life are seen a a much lower amount in spay and neutered dogs. We have had and have several other dogs, and they all have been neutered or spayed, before 6 months of age so that we could lower the risk as much as possible. Of course, there are many other things that you can do to help keep cancer at bay, but I know when we were faced with it I remembered thinking that I wish I knew just how much of a difference neutering can make, we would not have "thought about it" on and off for as many years as we did and just would have said that it was best for a healthy life, puppies really aren't a big deal to us. That said - continuing a great line is very important and I respect that, and I think there is a healthy balance between picking a age where they can breed and then "retire" and be neutered while it benefits their health its worth considering.

i used to have a golden owned by my brother named gucci, she past away only age of 8... your golden reminds me of her and one day when i get a big place i will get a golden again. That was the problem we didnt have a huge yard for her to play in.

Nooooooo. Not after TJ Oshie, he's a Cap... (Rangers fan here). Just kidding that's great. We are getting our new Golden around April 27th. The past 3/mo have been the longest we have gone without a dog so we are very much looking forward it. He will be our 3rd Golden and we are trying to pick a name. Right now we are thinking about Yogi as in Yogi Bear but still thinking about it. We have really enjoyed the Oshie video's so thank you for posting them.

GGNTech Thank you for watching! Haha. Yeah, TJ Oshie from the caps. He was on Team USA playing in the winter Olympics when we first heard of him. Watched him beat Russia during a shootout and as America's newest hero, we loved him. His name was a good fit since we had picked out a puppy at the time. I'm from L.A, so I'm a Kings fan 😆. Jesse is from New Hampshire and has family in the Boston area, so he's a Bruins fan..haha..I think Yogi is a cute name for a golden.. How about Lundqvist or McDonagh?..haha

If Oshie is anything like my dog, he's a babe magnet. Take him for a walk and everyone wants to see him and pet him. People food? My wife does the same thing. It's hard not to spoil a Golden. Just give them a lot of love and you'll get more back in return. One question. Will Oshie jump into a car on his own or do you have to help him in?

My golden will not jump in for nothing. Most I've ever been able to do is get him to put his front paws in once in awhile, but that's it. He won't jump over anything, he will go around. Still he's a great dog.

Nancy De Avila her name was Hershey at first becuase her fur is a mix of black,chocolete brown and white. But my little sister couldn't pronounce it and instead said oshi so that became her name 😂

I LOVEEE all dogs, but Goldens are my absolute favorite. Jesse likes Rottweilers, and I am a fan of Bernese Mountain Dogs as-well. However, i think we will stick with Goldens. There is just nothing like them. =]

I been around animals all my life. The last one being an Akita from the pound. Which was dropped off 2 twice for eating stuff. She was a handful till the Vet said watch Cesar Millan and use a can of marbles to correct them. As dogs live in the now. She was smart as Fox as well. They shed twice a year and that is it. It just last 1 week and it filled a garbage back. I even had an E-6 MP on base wait till I returned to the car. As he noticed she was in Driver Seat eye balling him! He said what kind of dog is that. I said one that the Japanese made a statue of. And give to new families that just had a kid. As they are highly protective and loyal. She just thinks she can drive.... Just rattle the keys and she is at the door faster then Atom Ant and knocks you ass over to get to it!

Male goldens will roam if they are not neutered especially if there is a female in the area. Made the mistake of not neutering my first golden he did roam . I was out a number of times at 2AM looking for him because we didn't have a fence.
